4 Ways To Make Working Out More Fun

I know working out is not everyone’s favorite activity. I feel very fortunate that it’s something I truly enjoy and look forward to every day. But even I need some help to make working out more fun every now and then. Having fun is something all Americans need but not many are getting. Some of my favorite ways to make working out more fun:

4-ways-to-make-working-out-more-fun

Reward Yourself: I know that when I wake up and I having one of those days where I maybe don’t quite feel in the workout mood it’s hard to motivate myself. Maybe I did not get enough sleep or perhaps I just woke up a bit cranky. No matter why I am not in the workout mood, I know that I won’t let myself have coffee until the workout is done. Yep if you know me at all you know that, that’s reward enough! So after I go to the gym I run through Starbucks or come back home and brew a cup! Maybe buy yourself a Starbucks gift card and use that to reward yourself for either each workout or say if you have a goal of four workouts a week then on Friday get a coffee! You could sign up for a Chase Freedom Unlimited card to help with that reward!

Get Some Fun Clothes: New workout clothes are my love language. Something about a cute workout outfit makes me way more likely to get out of bed excited and scurry off to the gym! Showing up to the gym in a cute pair of leggings or fun new sneakers is always enjoyable! I love especially when someone notices and says “I love that top!” or “Those are awesome shoes!” Recently I got a cute workout top at Target that says “This workout is sponsored by coffee” and I have gotten so many compliments on it. When I went to Target I used my Chase Freedom Unlimited card to snag some cute workout gear on a budget. Cute fun workout gear? Sign me up!

Quality Time: I find that when I drag Andrew to the gym with me and we work out together it’s more fun and a nice refresher. The only problem is he is not the biggest fan of early morning weekend workouts. But we also really enjoy bike rides and walks on the trails in our neighborhood. Quality time with friends is great too. Having a buddy to take a class with or go for a run with is awesome and something that really makes working out more fun.

Be Adventurous: Have you always wanted to take Zumba but are afraid? What about that TRX class that looks really intense or going to hike that insane trail in your area? Be adventurous and go try something new. It will make your workout so much more fun and enjoyable!

If those things don’t inspire you into making your workouts a bit more fun check out these infographics from Chase Freedom Unlimited as to why fun is IMPORTANT and how you can use Chase Freedom Unlimited to make life a bit more fun!

  3. Ok, first off, I LOOOOOOVE that we both have guys named Andrew. So fun. 🙂

Second, this post was definitely meant for me, I groaned to myself a little inwardly when I noticed the title of it (I came over from the Peony’s post thread) but knew that it would be packed with things I needed to read. I really struggle with getting into a workout routine. I just hate it. Haha!

But these are such good ideas! I am going to HAVE to do #2 fo sho! It’s been YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARS since I got decent workout clothes…like…since cheerleading in high school…over 10 years ago – oiy!

Do you have a favorite workout clothes brand or suggestions for good ones? What shoes do you like best?

Love these ideas! I’m like you in that I actually really enjoy my workouts, but I still find that I need to reward myself or spice it up to keep myself going at times. I find buying new workout wear almost always does the trick. Any excuse to go shopping right? Haha.

I also totally agree with trying more adventurous workouts. I do a lot of workout videos, so I love trying out new styles (kickboxing is a favorite!)

I really enjoy working out when I’m doing it my problem is getting myself to go do it lol I work out looking like a slob lol I’m talking mens basketball shirt and over washed t-shirts from ten years ago when I worked at Sonic. I think for me the best motivation is my step tracker and seeing that I hit my goal.
