5 Reasons To Have a Morning Routine

I am type A to a fault, although I do not see it as a bad thing. I thrive on schedules, routines, and to do lists. Without these things I am less productive, more stressed, and not as happy! I have 5 reasons to have a morning routine I wanted to share with you guys. These things really work for me and might just work for you too!

5 Reasons To Have A Morning Routine

Reason 1 – Something To Look Forward To: I am one of those people who looks forward to my morning coffee. It’s the little things right? Having a morning routine I know exactly when I will be having that caffeine fix. Now that it’s hot (read over 100 degrees daily) that hot latte doesn’t work for me. Honestly, anything hot is not appealing so I turn to Café Bustelo Cool Coffee Drinks. We have a ton in our fridge and I usually grab one in the morning either with my breakfast or I take it with me in the car. It’s sold at Walmart (located in the coffee aisle) and is perfect to take on the go with you. Fits easily in a purse, gym bag, work bag, etc. The Café Bustelo Coffee Drink Cafe Con Leche flavor is my personal favorite but we also really like the cafe con chocolate! Check out THIS DEAL from Ibotta to try it out for yourself! Seriously delicious and so perfect for these hot months! Having something to look forward to be it your morning coffee or whatever it is you like makes a morning routine so helpful!

Reason 2 – Makes You More Productive: I know that I am my least productive when I am off my schedule and not following a routine. When I stick to my routine, i.e. waking up at the same time, following my usual steps in the morning, and getting out for my workout I am far more productive the rest of the day. Having a to do list for the day helps this as well.

Reason 3 – Less Likely To Sleep In: When you are used to waking up early and you know what you have to get done you are far less likely to sleep in. Days I sleep in I feel so meh. Thankfully knowing that Bustelo Cool Coffee Drink is waiting for me helps me not sleep in at all. I am a huge morning person and I attribute this to having a morning routine that I enjoy.

Reason 4 – Getting Important Things Done: I always have a to do list for the day and I can look at that list and know what the most important things to get done are. Those things get done first thing in the morning and I have way less stress for my day. Having a morning routine will leave you less stressed, and happier. This is so important for your mental state.

Reason 5 – Self Care: A skincare routine, flossing, getting dressed everyday, putting on a bit of makeup, exercising. These are all things that need to be done for self care. Sure some of them (makeup) are not as important. When you have a morning routine you can ensure self-care is a priority. This is important because if you are feeling rushed, self-care is the first thing to fall by the wayside. Having a pretty regimented morning routine you will always make time for washing your face, applying products to help your skin, and getting a good sweat session in!

These 5 reasons to have a morning routine are purely my opinion, but having a regimented morning routine for a long time I can tell you that it works. If you don’t currently have a routine maybe see if having one helps in any way! It’s worth it!

I’m really bad at sticking to a morning routine. Even when I set my alarm to get up early I somehow end up pressing snooze too many times…
You’ve inspired me to be a little more disciplined though!

I LOVE having a morning routine for all of these reasons. The problem is that the second I fall out of it (due to travel or a change in schedule) it’s so hard for me to jump back in. Eek!

  7. If I don’t follow my morning routine my whole day seems a bit disjointed. My routine does include a cup of hot coffee by the way.
