Best Hair Care Tips

I have always had thick hair. My entire life hairdressers used to comment on how much hair I had. Until I was 12 it was down to my waist and wavy. Now as an adult I usually keep it about shoulder length for easy maintaining. I have also since discovered flat irons which made dealing my hair as an adult much easier. The winter months always makes my hair feel much healthier because there is less crap in it from pools, beaches, and sweaty days outside. I am going to share my best hair care tips for healthy hair today! Most of these are things I learned from Angela, my hair stylist.

  1. Don’t wash your hair every day. I never could do this until the last few years. It always felt gross to not wash it everyday but I soon realized what was making it feel gross WAS washing it daily.
  2. Use a good brush. This doesn’t mean it has to be a $50 brush, just a good brush. Thank goodness for the Goody Clean Radiance brush. Copper bristles reduce natural buildup produced over time. Less buildup in hair will leave hair looking healthier and more radiant. Flexible cushion pad for added comfort when brushing.  This brush is hands down my favorite I have used! I saw a huge difference in how my hair felt after just a few days of using it. It is now my go to brush on a daily basis!

  3. Keep up with hair appointments. I am notorious for putting off my trims and it is so bad for your hair. Make sure you see your stylist or whoever cuts your hair often. Angela recommends every 6-8 weeks. I usually try to push it to 8, but considering she mainly takes weight out of my hair I can tell when it’s time to go see her!
  4. Brush your hair out in the shower. This prevents tangles and breaking. Brushing your hair out right after you wash it is really great for keeping your hair shiny, silky and smooth.
  5. Use the right products, but not too many. I use It’s A 10 Miracle Leave In and Moroccan Oil on wet hair and honestly that’s it! If I have an event I may add some sheen to it at the end, but I do not overdue it.
  6. Avoid heat when you can. If you do not always need to blow dry, flat iron and curl don’t. It kills your hair!  I really try to only use heat 1-2 times a week and since I made that change I have noticed a huge difference in the quality and feel of my hair.

When it comes to most hair care I have discovered less is more. Less washing, less product, less tools, less heat. What are your best hair care tips?

I have super thick hair too. I often get it thinned out. I’m terrible about getting it trimmed on time, so I need to get better about that. I love that brush, and need to get one.

  3. I do agree that there’s a right hair brush in every kind of hair. I learned that when I was still studying hair and makeup for a career. And I understand better now everything about it. You really have a good point here and it’s still helping me a lot. I have new learning to put in my basket now. Thanks for sharing with us these hair care tips.

  4. I’d rather choose to have a thick hair, really. But yes, with a thick hair on . you have to know the proper way to take care of it. I’m sure it’s not really that complicated for as long as you care too much for it and never take it for granted. And you just explained it in your post. Anyone now can have a perfect looking hair, whether it’s thick or not. Thanks for sharing your tips.

parts of the body. Non-existence of even one part of the body
becomes an obstacle for the body . so, this is great post for hair.
