Guest Post and Amazing Giveaway from Katie

Hey ACWOM friends! I’m so excited to be blogging over here in Neely’s neck of the internet-woods today! And I’m so excited that I also have some awesome treats to share with you! But before I get ahead of myself…

I’m Katie and I blog at State of Change. I’m wife to a studly military man and mama to an almost two year old little girl. Thanks to the military and motherhood, my life never stays the same for long! I write about everything from our life, to recipes, to things I’m thinking about, to my favorite things,… and more! I’m determined and a little bit stubborn, but more than anything I appreciate love, kindness, and a good laugh. I hope that my blog brings a little more of those three things to people’s lives.

And speaking of bringing things to people’s lives…if we’re going to be friends, which I can just tell that we are , I have to tell you something else about me: I love people with food. Not the good for you kind either. I love to love people with a big plate of cookies, or brownies, or maybe even a cake. It’s my love language, yall. So since I know we’re going to be friends, I thought I would bring you the internet version of cookies: a cookie recipe! That way, you can make them yourself and pretend they’re from me, and I don’t even have to get my kitchen dirty! It’s a win, win 😉

Oatmeal Cookies (w/butterscotch & chocolate chips)

(oatmeal cookies don’t take the most flattering photos with my amateur camera, so you’ll have to imagine that they will look fabulous.)

You’ll need:

1 cup of butter, softened (don’t freak out, it’s worth it, I promise. deep breaths.)

1 cup of white sugar

1 cup of brown sugar (did I mention these are not “diet friendly” cookies? sorry New Years resolutions..)

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 cups old fashioned oats

1/2 bag of butterscotch chips

1/2 bag of chocolate chips

((preheat oven to 375))

1. Mix together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.

2. Mix in eggs and vanilla.

3. In separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. (I never do this, I just dump it all in on top of the wet ingredients because I don’t like having more dishes.) Then add to wet and mix.

4. Stir in oats.

5. Gently fold in butterscotch and chocolate chips.

6. Drop by tablespoons on cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

7. Enjoy the taste of heaven on your tongue. (but probably wait until they cool down, or else it will not be heaven you will be tasting.)

I really hope you enjoyed your “internet cookies”, and because I know we’re going to be very good friends, I figured I would throw some actual goodies in there as well… so I’m giving away some of my favorite things! How does a $25 gift card to Starbucks, my favorite three pack of notebooks (that I actually found through Neely!), a chocolate bar, and some nail polish sound? Enter to win here, and I hope to see you over at my place soon!
