Favorite Movies To Watch Together + New Snack Idea

There are some couples who want to go out all the time. The newest trendy restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. We are not that couple. Thank God for that! I did enough of that in my twenties, and now in my thirties I just want to be home, go to bed early, and spend quality time with my husband. Sure we love date nights and try to have them a few times a month, but we are both the happiest snuggled up on the couch watching a movie and sharing a snack. I thought it would be fun to share our favorite movies to watch together along with our new favorite movie watching snack!

We are both people who love to snack during movies. While we are huge fans of popcorn, sometimes it just gets boring. I mean, how many times can you eat the same thing before you get bored with it? Recently we got to try Soy Vay Popped Rice Clusters and they were a huge hit! We both loved Soy Vay sauces and marinades when we cook, so trying the new popped rice clusters was pretty fun! They come in great flavors: Spicy ‘n Sweet, Ginger ‘n Sesame, and Thai Style Peanut – Soy Vay® Popped Rice Clusters. If you are a fan of Asian food you will love these! These snacks deliver bold, Asian-inspired flavors and are made from non-GMO, high quality ingredients including popped wild & brown rice topped with black sesame seeds, chia seeds, & peanuts.

Favorite Movies To Watch Together

If you are married or in a relationship you may have the same problem we do. We like very different movies. Andrew loves horror movies and crazy action movies. I love romantic comedies and superhero movies. We both love comedies so that tends to be what we go for. We also have a few random romantic comedies, action movies, etc that we both somehow love.

Some of our favorite action movies to watch are Gone in Sixty Seconds and Taken. Really we will watch all of the Taken movies, but the first one is just the best. I am surprised by how much I enjoy these movies.

The Father of the Bride movies are a favorite too. I know I love them more than Andrew, but he at least enjoys them enough to watch them with me.

We love the Home Alone movies, but we have a rule of only watching them around the holiday times. I just can’t bring myself to watch Home Alone when it’s 100 degrees outside. Feels wrong!

The Internship, Friends with Benefits, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and I Love You Man are our favorite comedies to watch. I actually had not seen Friends with Benefits until about a year ago, and now it’s usually my suggestion.

Up in the Air is our favorite drama to watch and one of my top five favorite movies of all time. Everything about this movie is amazing!

While we don’t agree on TONS of movies to watch together, we at least have some that we can easily go to. We have more than just these, but these are the ones that get watched most in our house!

I would love to know what you and your significant others favorite movies to watch together are!

Both of us like action films and some comedies, but there are also plenty of films that the other doesn’t like. We try to compromise.

We tend to agree on movies for the most part, except that he doesn’t really like to watch them unless he’s heard of them before. They have to have big stars, etc. Sigh.

Snuggling up and watching a movie at home together is one of my favorite things to do with my husband! I’m glad there’s a lot of overlap in what we like to watch, although there are definitely some movies he watches alone (I wasn’t excited about Warcraft, for example).

While my ex and I watched movies together sometimes, our favorite thing was to watch episodes of Friends. We could just sit back, relax and get in a few laughs.

  9. Wow..those snacks look really delicious! I think I’d go for the Sweet & Spicy ones first.

The hubs and I are kind of different when it comes to movies. I love horror/gore, action, sci-fi, superhero and hubs is more into action. He is not into horror so it takes a bit of talking into to get him to watch something with me. We tend to watch a lot of family movies though since we do have 3 kids in the house & it’s not so easy to watch other movies w/out them.

This is cute. =) My husband and I have been the same type of couple, to go out occasionally but mostly stay in just cuddling up and spending time together, for as long as we’ve been together–and we’ve been together since I was 20. Neither of us has ever been the “go out every night” type.

Granted, we’re both big kids at heart so our “stay in and watch a movie” night is usually Pixar movies. =P

I love all your movie suggestions! Once the weather turns nice here in Ohio, we enjoy as much as we can by going to festivals and bars to watch bands. As soon as the weather gets cold, that’s when we stay in and watch movies!

My husband and I are really into Netflicks series. Right now we’re watching Brooklyn 99 but it’s really just a guilty pleasure. When we watch movies we tend to go for more “man-friendly” ones because he’s not into the romance too much! The last movie we watched was “Straight Outta’ Compton” LOL but generally we go for dramas. I like weird, indie movies and he likes action so dramas seem to be a good middle ground!

We love watching movies together, and no clubbing anymore for us either. My husband is usually a pretty good sport about watching all the little indie movies I want to see. Sure, he sometimes falls asleep, but that’s more because we have three wild boys. Those snacks look great!

  35. I watch TV shows on Netflix more than I watch movies, but when I watch movies I always turn to my long-time faves: Undercover Blues, Clue or a Mel Brooks movie. 🙂 I also like action movies or romantic comedies. I love comedies, but am not a huge fan of the type of humor that’s popular now, so it’s either rom-coms or an older comedy. 🙂

  39. I love you Man, is the only one on this list I have not watched. I am right there with you on Taken. They are good movies, and the first one is the best. They tend to over do it when they have a hit. My husbands favorite is Saraha. He can watch it over and over. Otherwise he is in control of the remote and it is usually on the hunting channel. That is fine. I have my blogging and books. As you age you become more relaxed.
