How To Pick The Perfect Stroller/Car Seat Combo

When I got pregnant one thing that I found somewhat daunting was picking a stroller and a car seat. I mean there are SO MANY OPTIONS. Everyone has opinions, and everyone says something different. So of course we did a TON of research. We decided early on that our first choice for our everyday stroller was the UPPAbaby Vista and then the UPPAbaby MESA Car Seat. I am going to share today what I love about it and why it’s the perfect stroller/car seat combo for us.

How To Pick The Perfect Stroller/Car Seat Combo

Ease of Travel: The stroller comes with a travel bag that is beyond helpful. We have 3 trips planned this summer and we feel so much better about going through the stroller gate checking process knowing our stroller is protected. As far as traveling in the car, it folds and unfolds so easily! I was so worried the first time I took the stroller out without Andrew, but the UPPAbaby made it so easy and seamless.

Ease of Use: The bassinet is perfect for walks right now when Liam is still pretty little. VISTA Bassinet suitable from birth up to 20 lbs. and 25″ long, or until infant can push up on hands and knees, whichever comes first. Then we would switch to the toddler seat which is suitable from 3 mo. to 50lbs. We also sometimes use the car seat on walks to snap in if we aren’t leaving from our house. Switching out the bassinet and car seat from the stroller base takes seconds. It snaps and unsnaps in easy and you know it’s secure. We wanted an easy to use stroller because we want to be able to take Liam on lots of walks, trips, and all over town with us.

Safety: When the MESA car seat is secure there are 3 spots where it turns green, pictured below. The MESA is the only infant car seat on the market that uses the SMARTSECURE™ system. Self-retracting mini LATCH connectors and a red to green tightness indicator allow for a quick, accurate, and easy installation in seconds The MESA combines the safety, functionality, and ease of use parents and their babies need to feel protected and reassured. Safety is important to us like most new parents. Of course we worry about everything and I love that I don’t have to worry because I see that it’s secure. The MESA is able to be used 4-35lbs and up to 32″ in height. There is an insert for the MESA that can be used up to 8lbs. Our baby was a little less than 7 lbs his first time in the car seat. It gave us that extra ounce of security!

Included when you purchase:

  • Stroller includes both bassinet and toddler seat – completely interchangeable and requires no fabric swapping.
  • Adjustable canopy for growing child, an extendable SPF 50+ Sunshade, adjustable footrest and an XL basket for storage
  • One-button telescopic handlebar height adjustment
  • Reversible toddler seat with multi-position toddler seat recline
  • The Bassinet is also tested to overnight sleep standards!

For these reasons and SO MANY MORE we are huge fans of UPPAbaby products. We also have the parent organizer which is great to hold water, your phone, keys, etc on walks.

So now you know what to look for and how to pick the perfect stroller/car seat combo!

  2. Thank you for this. Although I don’t personally need a stroller or a car seat, I have lots of relatives who do! And I’m always baffled by all of the choices. This really helps!

I always wanted an uppa babu baby stroller. It was a bit out of my price range though. They are very nice.
