Today I have the one the only Meghan sharing her 5 Do’s and A Don’t! Meghan is not only a fabulous blogger, hysterical and gorgeous but she happens to be my FRIEND 🙂 I got to go visit Meghan in Chicago last summer, share a room with her at Blissdom and in a little over 2 months we are going to NYC for another fun girls trip! She is pure greatness so def check out her blog! Also Meghan I forgive you for using a super awkward picture of me 🙂

Hi there! My name is Meghan, and I blog over at “The Perfect Compilation Tape“. You can usually find me discussing my love for Chicago, cupcakes, coffee and running – as well as my epic fails as a wife. Domestic goddess, I am not! When Neely asked me to participate in her weekly “5 Do’s and a Don’t”, I was elated! How could I pass up the opportunity to share some advice? Plus, Neely rocks my world. I don’t remember how we first “met”, but I remember thinking that it was almost eerie how much we had in common! From traveling to barre classes to “One Tree Hill”, this girl gets me – so thanks, Neely, for hosting me today

(This is me. One thing you should know about me is that I hate to have my picture taken. So I use this one all of the time. It’s from 2009.)
So, without further adieu, here are my bits of wisdom. Some are silly and some are serious – kind of like me:)
DO belt it out in the car. When you hear that song (for me, it’s “Hold On” by Wilson Philipps), sing along. Shout it out. Love life.
DO take pride in your blog. It doesn’t matter what you write about or how many followers you have – there are over 150 million blogs in the world. We are SO BRAVE for putting ourselves out there, and it is not an easy feat.

(Blissdom 2012 with some familiar ladies!)
DO make time for your girlfriends. Whether it’s coffee, a workout, or a crazy night of dancing, it’s important to cultivate those friendships.

(I hope Neely is still my friend after posting this photo.) *Note from Neely this picture should describe exactly what a night out with girlfriends looks like 🙂
DO find a partner who supports you and your dreams. When I told my husband I wanted to backpack through Europe, he said, “You should go. And how can I help get you there?” He didn’t stop me because he had no interest, and while it was hard to be away from him for two weeks, I loved him for supporting my desire to see the world.
DO tell your parents how much you appreciate them. They are the ones who have loved us unconditionally since day one!
DON’T apologize for who you are. People think I am crazy because I don’t cook and I loathe high heels. I’d rather live in a tiny apartment in a big city than a big house somewhere else. If you don’t “fit the mold”, create your own!
Thanks for hosting, Neely!

Oh my gosh, I love you! This was so fun! Thanks, dear! 🙂
I am loving all of these! Great advice (and some the I have to remind myself to do and don’t!)

Great post, Meghan. I love it. You’re such an amazing gal. Neely clearly is too because she drinks Blue Moon (there were other cool things I liked in her “About” section, but that one was the best).
I love this “don’t” so much. And I really needed to be reminded of that right now! Great post.
I love Meghan and I love this!
