Here’s the thing about blogging. It takes time. Regardless of if it is your full time job or a fun hobby you probably spend a good portion of your week running your blog. From coming up with post ideas, fielding emails and phone calls, taking photos and running your various social media platforms it can seem like you are ALWAYS doing something blog related. I know for me finding ways to streamline my blog and business are great. Streamlining your blog can be a huge time saver. In return this gives you more time for your friends and family, sleep, exercise etc.
One of my favorite ways of streamlining my blog is with HostGator optimized WordPress. I am a WordPress user and have been for almost 4 years. It was one of the best decisions I ever made for my blog! You may be asking what HostGator and optimized WordPress is. Optimized WordPress is a new hosting platform that is specifically built for an optimized and managed WordPress environment. Optimized WordPress hosting packages will come pre-loaded with PHP 5.6 by default (the most recent PHP version offered). HostGator will handle all of the core, theme, and plugin updates without the need for any action on your part. In other words, you won’t have to worry about logging into your WP-Admin panel to handle common updates. Additionally, Optimized WordPress does not provide cPanel access, allowing you to install and access your WordPress sites without needing to access or navigate an extra control panel to do the things you want to do. Make sure to check out additional information about HostGator Optimized WordPress which can be found here.
HostGator also provides 24/7 live support via chat, phone, and email – you’re not alone. I can’t tell you how many times you will want and need that! They also have one click WordPress installs – no messy downloading and uploading of files. As well as one click and start easy to use website builder – drag and drop tools that make building a site super simple. If you don’t want to mess with design they have design services, marketing services including SEO and PPC. You can also shop for domains! Let HostGator help manage your web hosting for you while you do what you do best, produce content.
Some of the benefits of using HostGator are that the updates are automatic which is huge! It is such a pain to see one of your plugins not working and realize you haven’t updated it! Been there, done that and had the freakout to prove it. It has sitelock malware scanning and removal! Codeguard daily backup and restoring because have you ever had the nightmare that all of your content disappeared. Just me? Also HostGator Optimized WordPress is a new premium product and just a small extension to existing products provided by HostGator.
Other favorite ways to streamline your blog:
Use quickbooks to keep track of all of your expenses and income with blogging. This is a huge help especially when you need to get taxes done!
Hire out for things that are not your strong suit: Photoshop, blog pictures etc. You can’t be great at everything but I bet your know someone who you can trade with. Maybe you’re great with accounting and your blogger friend is great with photos. Have them take your photos and you help with their blog taxes.
Use buffer or hootsuite to schedule social media posts. This is ESPECIALLY helpful when you are going out of town or maybe have a busy work week but you still want to stay active on social media!
Streamlining your blog may take a little time at first to get everything set up but it’s worth it in the end!

I have heard a lot of good things about Host Gator. If it comes time for me move away from my current host, I may give them a try. 🙂
Oh man. I wish I would have known this before I re-upped with GoDaddy again. I’ve heard so many great things about Host Gator!
Thanks, this is valuable information. Thanks for sharing…
Actually, m y blog is hosted with Hostgator 😀
I’m sorry we aren’t with hostgator but thanks so much for the information!
Great information. I’m not with Hostgator right now, but if I switch hosting in the future, I will definitely consider them now. thanks!
These are great tips! I just want to add that I also use HostGator their customer service can not be beat! When I first started blogging, I couldn’t even spell HTML. They were so helpful!
I use Hostgator but not the optimized version. I would trust them with handling all the back end stuff, though. I’ve always had good service from them. One way I streamline my blog is plan out all my content ahead of time, have all my pictures done ahead of time, and I write about a week ahead on all the posts over two days in the week. This gives me time to work on promotion, social media and other projects the rest of the week.
This is so good to know. I’m not with them, but in the future I might be. Thanks!
