Today I have quite the treat! The Fabulous Kelly is taking over my blog to talk Fashion and is also giving away something fab…so make sure you read on. I’ve been reading Kelly’s blog FOREVER and I just love her attitude, sense of style, and seriously her family is the cutest thing ever…I mean seriously her wedding video made me cry.

It breaks my heart to say this – Summer is over. Old Navy has Halloween costumes out, craft stores have broken out the
ornaments and lights, and me? Well, I’ve
barely finished my Fall shopping. But
ohhh…Fall shopping! I can’t help but
lust over the online collections, the displays in the stores, and the pictures
of Fashion bloggers on Pinterest.

But – do all of you live in Canada? Because here in DC…its hot. And I’m staring forlornly at the new sweaters
and colored skinny jeans and silky blouses hanging in my closet, and wishing
for cooler temperatures so I can finally break them in. Patience is a virtue.
I am not a virtuous woman, and I am
certainly not a patient one. Since
I’m officially done with shopping for all of my Fall Must Haves, I decided…why
wait? So I’m going to share my ways of
wearing them now.

I picked three of my favorite pieces for Fall – a chambray shirt, patterned jeans, and a utility vest – and this is how I am wearing them now, and will be in November.

Chambray shirts look awesome with colored skinny jeans and
layered under sweaters. But I also love
to wear them open, a sort of denim cardigan. Once
it gets cooler, I can’t wait to pair this one with a tribal skirt, tights and
booties. But today? I love how it looks over a simple white dress
with leopard flats – perfect to ward off the chilly air conditioning in Starbucks.

I find my closet overloaded this year with leopard jeans, red
jeans, white jeans, distressed jeans, floral jeans and camo jeans, and it is
fantastic how you can make them look both feminine and edgy. I can’t wait to balance this pair with a silky
camp-style blouse and wedges when it gets a bit cooler, but right now I am
loving the chic way patterned jeans look when paired with a simple tank and
sexy heels for the summer.
