Today I have quite the TREAT for you! Literally. Crissy is sharing an amazing recipe that hopefully this mess in the kitchen could try to make at some point. But if you aren’t a mess in the kitchen like me you should try it out!
Oh hello, everyone! It’s me again, Crissy from The Notebook of a Product Junkie. I’ve had the pleasure of already introducing myself here, and had a guest spot here(which got picked up by Lucky’s community, may I add!)
When Neely asked if I wanted to be a guest again on her blog, well, I just couldn’t resist – she’s just the bestest!
It’s now officially fall. The pumpkin spice lattes are available at Starbucks; the pumpkins are out ready for Halloween and I thought I would share with you only the best cookies you’ll ever have! Now I can’t take credit for the recipe – I leave that to my genius sister-in-law, Jen. It’s a hit with the kids, and much more so with the adults. Now if you don’t like pumpkin, then I apologize because that’s the main ingredient of this recipe, but I still think you should give them a try! If you do like them and share them with your friends and family, if someone asks who the genius behind these cookies is, you’ll say this awesome girl Jen in Montreal! She’ll be happy you did so.
They are called Mama Cookies. Why? That is what my nieces (Jen’s 3 gorgeous daughters) lovingly refer to them as, and now, to many and to you all, we shall refer to them as such.
So here we go!
What you need:
· 1 can of pure pumpkin
· 1 cup ½ of white sugar
· ½ cup of vegetable oil
· 2 X Motts apple & pear sauce (The single format)
· 1 ½ mashed well-ripened banana
· 6 cups of whole wheat flour
· 6 tsp. of baking powder
· 6 tsp. of cinnamon
· 3x ½ tsp of salt
· 3 tsp of baking soda
· 3 tsp of milk
· 3 tbsp of vanilla (extract is fine)
· 3 cups of chocolate chips (2 cups is fine as well)
In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin, sugar, oil, apple sauce and mashed banana.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
In a glass, stir the baking soda and milk together and stir in the bowl with the pumpkin.
Add the flour mix to the pumpkin mix. Hope you have some strong arms because this gets a little tough.
Add the vanilla and chocolate chips.

Once the mix is ready, I usually put about a tbsp. size for each serving. Totally up to you to decide how big you want these mama cookies to be. I bake them in at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes. The time will depend on your oven. So start with that and go from there.
And voila! You got yourselves some of Jen’s soon-to-be-famous Mama Cookies!
Grab your coffee and enjoy, but head on over to my blog because I am hosting a giveaway!
