Lessons Learned

Happy St. Patricks Day!! Are you wearing Green???

I feel like in my almost 27 years I have learned a lot…

Some things took me a LONG time to learn and I had to learn them over and over and over

Here are some of the random things Ive learned….

1. If someone doesnt want to be with you…you cant convince them otherwise and vise versa: When someone is done…they are done. If someone tells you they love you and you dont love them…they cant convince you otherwise. Its just a fact.

2. Reality TV makes you smarter: Who wants to be a millionaire and are you smarter than a 5th grader have taught me a lot…so has the bachelor…for instance I will never be one of 25 women 🙂

3. Wine is fine…but liquor is quicker. I mean if you want to get slammered really fast…drink yourself a few glasses of whiskey…it gets the job done.

4. Mommy knows best: How many times have you said to yourself… “yeah my mom was right.” If only we listened the first time…

5. If he does it once…he’ll do it again: Cheating, commitment issues, these are not one time things. These things dont change. If he cheats…get out now! If he cant commit…he wont ever.

6. If you have 2 friends in life you can REALLY REALLY count on you’re lucky: my mom said this to me in 3rd grade and it still rings true. I know I have a few more than 2 people I can really count on. But I know that there are some people in a crisis I can count on no matter what. And yes some of those people are reading this post right now 🙂

7. If you havent worn it in a year…you’ll never wear it: Donate it, toss it, sell it whatever but if its been hanging in your closet since boy bands were cool…you can let it go.

8. Boys come and go but your girlfriends dont…err shouldnt: Dont be one of those girls who shuts your friends out or drops them when a guy calls or you get married or whatever. Because marriages dont always last forever, neither do relationships, or flings but your girlfriends are always there to pick you up and set you on your feet again…trust me…I know!

I have more but I think I will save them for a part 2 🙂

Enjoy!

WINNING!

  2. I love your reality one – “I’ll never be one of 25!” Ha!

Definitely true about listening to your mama (most of the time) and she was right about true friends. They are definitely hard to come by!

The last part about not shutting out your girlfriends is so true! It’s so hard now that I am married to keep in touch with my girls, life just gets in the way but I am trying hard!

And you’re right… those are all SUCH good life lessons. My mom has alwayyyss been right about things, especially the friends one. I have 2 and I do feel lucky because at one point I had none.

What a fun post. I have learned that my mom and dad taught me so much that I ended up using to this day.

I haven’t thought of reality TV like that—I wondered what I’ve learned from all the hours clocked in for Real Housewives? 🙂
