Friends vs. Fakes

You all know what Im talking about here right? Fake friends are the ones that make you feel like you are in 7th grade eating lunch by yourself because during 4th period they all decided they hate you for no reason.

Real friends are the ones you can text at 4 AM because you are upset about something and they stay up all night with you calming you down.

Fake friends use you for things in blog world, maybe its exposure, or contacts, in the real world maybe its rides, or favors

Real friends return the favor, and make it a more give and get relationship you never feel like you are doing all of the work.

Fake friends are never there when you need them, they leave you out and make you feel like crap

Real friends support and lift you up and make you feel good about yourself

Fake friends give you backhanded compliments

Real friends would do anything for you no questions asked and to quote Greys Anatomy  ” If I murdered someone, she’s the person I’d call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor.”

Fake friends talk about you behind your back

Real friends tell you to your face

Fake friends leave you out of things and make you feel like crap

Real friends include you always and make you feel special

Fake friends are in it for themselves

Real friends go out of their way to do something nice for you for no reason other than they love you

Fake friends create drama about you

Real friends create memories with you

Fake friends make you cry

Real friends make you smile

Fake friends laugh about you

Real friends laugh with you

There you have it friends vs. fakes

Wow…well said! I have been dealing with some fake friend issues myself. Being the forgiving person I am I seem to make excuses for her. I am somewhat new to your blog, but this is certainly one of my favorite posts of yours so far! Thanks so much for sharing (and I laughed out loud when I saw that ecard hahahaha).

Yep! I actually had to “break up” with a friend last year who acted like our friendship was the greatest thing that had ever happened to her, but everything that came out of her mouth was either a backhanded compliment or some sort of ridiculous idea for how I could get her exposure on my blog. No thanks!

I love that ecard at the top. I’d like to send it to a few people, but I’ll hold off.

Learning who our real friends are is such a tough lesson. I’ve had to cut out some toxic people in the past few years. I didn’t know just HOW toxic they were until after I had eliminated them from my life. I don’t have time for their drama, negativity and ulterior motives. From now on I live by what I read recently in a book by Mandy Hale — “If it’s not honoring you, it doesn’t deserve a seat at your table.”

I loved this post! I finally realized after 15 years of “friendship” that my 2 so-called best friends weren’t friends at all. It broke my heart but I’m so much better off!

I have had to change my blog, original blog with all my wonderful real friends 7 blog awards is now private and of no use to do much with because of having it private, it is monitored and shared in the FB world where I do not wander due to “FAKES” but my life is so interesting to the fake that even with me saying I do not wish to be friends please leave me alone it is not respected. I love the land of blog, I have some of the greatest friends made thru blogging and yet the insane envy of a fake is making it harder to want to share openly & now showing up on several blogs I have followed for years it is heartbreaking even more than realizing the 13+ year friendship was never “REAL”.
My opinion of REAL friendship is not only what you wrote but RESPECT you have to respect the person and not want to ever on purpose see them hurting!!
Great post Neely one of my most quoted sayings is…….if you need help with the body I’ll bring the shovel, I am a great digger!!

Well said! Fake friends do not invite you to parties on purpose, real friends don´t even ask to have you there… Just from a recent experience! Take care!

  19. Fake friends secretly judge you for your struggles, issues, hangups, and whatever else.

Real friends would never judge you, they are too busy walking through it all with you.
