Hello, ladies. I am Caroline from Simply Smithwick {link to http://carolineandfredsmithwick.blogspot.com }. I am so excited to be filling in for my friend, Neely, while she’s studying her life away. 🙁
While Christmas (and my birthday…eek) are fast approaching, I know many of us are thinking about gifts we are dying to see under the tree. I am.
I love shoes. It’s almost like a sickness. I have more pairs of shoes than any woman should, but don’t most of us? Whenever I have a “Wish List”, it always contains a pair of shoes. It’s like Toni Collette’s character in “In Her Shoes” said, “I get something out of them! When I feel bad I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good… food just makes me fatter… shoes always fit.”
Well, I was completely floored when I recently read that my favorite “Gossip Girl”, Blake Lively, bought 40 pair of Christian Louboutin shoes! Supposedly she’s giving them as Christmas presents to her friends and family, but c’mon, 40 pair? How did she know everyone’s size? I’ll take one pair (size 7) if she’s buying!
The flats start out at a mere $150 and the heels start at $225. Yes, those are the starting prices! The girl spent somewhere along the lines of $9,000+ on shoes. Fred would kill me if I did something like that! I wonder if she even had buyer’s remorse (one of the worst sicknesses ever, might I add)?
This fantasy of living in Blake’s shoes (literally) got me thinking…is there anything you’ve just splurged on or thought about splurging on?
I could spend my entire bank account on shoes. Ahhh, a girl can dream.

Aww great guest post! I would definitely splurge on shoes or nice dresses. In fact, I already DO splurge on those items… I just never have places to wear them to!

I love shoes!! I have a whole closet just for them! I wish I could be like Blake and buy 40 pair at one time.
Great post Caroline!! I love shoes too. I have super narrow feet, so it’s really hard for me to find cute shoes to fit my feet, but I could sit in a shoe store trying on shoes for hours!

A wise man once said shoes are a girl’s best friend….and diamonds. But you know us girls, we always have more than one best friend:)
I would totally splurge on purses…coach ones. it is my love language…
