So you’re thinking of going to Blissdom…

Last week Blissdom made a fantastic announcement that not only are they changing the date from Jan/Feb to late March BUT they are changing locations from Nashville to my current city/hometown of Dallas, TX!

HOLLA!

So if you have been on twitter the last several days you have no doubt seen tons of tweets of people wanting to know more about blissdom and for those of us already in the cult just getting excited with all the blissdom talk.

But are you gonna go??

If you are on the fence just know these things:

1. Community: Nothing like it at Blissdom. There is something about a room full of people all on smartphones and macbooks and that being socially acceptable during a speech. You have to love that!

2. Fun. The most fun night last year was hands down girls night in. A bunch of tipsy, bloggers just dancing, having fun and knowing it was the last time a lot of them would see each other for a year. Its seriously like camp. You are excited to go, you don’t get any sleep and you cry when you leave. Its a lot of weird…but good weird.

2. 5: The Entertainment: Where else would you find Michelle Branch, Matt Kearney, A Jonas Brother, Rascal Flats and Chris Mann? Oh just performing for the blissdom peeps 🙂

3. The Swag: Oh don’t even act like you don’t like free stuff! The blissdom swag is amazing! The daily booths and the networking and meeting the people behind brands is so fun and if you play your cards right could form lasting relationships.

4. Friends: This goes along with my whole like camp thing, so many of your twitter and blog friends you have grown close to online you get to meet in person! What’s better than that.

5. Inspring: The first year I went to Blissdom I was in a really bad place personally. I left so confident and inspired to grow my blog and to grow as a person. Every person you meet is inspiring. The women who created Blissdom are inspiring. You learn that you are inspiring.

I also have to say that this past year going to Blissdom was tough for me and I almost did not go. I found out the day before that my dad has cancer. He assured me that I needed to go ahead and go and I’m glad I did. The support I got from friends old and new at Blissdom was immeasurable.

If you need more convincing I put together a little video of my 2 years at Blissdom…please watch it!

Need even more convincing?? Watch the Blissdom opening video from 2011…makes me tear up every single time!

I hope to see you all in Dallas in March for Blissdom.

Feel free to email me or comment with any questions, I am happy to answer them.

Follow your bliss!

Will you be attending Blissdom?

  1. I’ve definitely considered going because I’m in the DFW area too. It’s just so, so expensive and I’m pretty sure the prices I saw don’t include hotel room? I might be wrong on that…

  13. Stop, I loved this. You know what sold me was the picture that said “I am enough”….Already lady we are going to get together and do some crazy karaoke and drink far too much.

I think this is exactly what I need in my life. Oh happy days I am so glad you did this. Have to get my seat the first day so that I don’t lose the spot! August 10th can’t come soon enough.

That sounds like a lot of fun and its so close, but I’m not sure if my little blog is ready for a conference. Do you think it benefits people who blog as a hobby?
