I’ve always been a reader. I learned to read at an oddly young age and was always ahead of the curve on my reading levels(OK enough bragging haha).
I go through phases though where I just cant seem to find something to catch my interest. Then I was told to download the book, Slammed.
I devoured the book. Then its sequel and then waited a week and devoured the third book when it came out this past Tuesday. I also read Hopeless and I am waiting for the sequel to come out in July.
Colleen Hoovers books speak to me. Its hard to explain but just the way she describes the pain of these characters. She is the kind of writer I would hope to be half of someday.
She is signing books in Denton, TX in August and I cant wait to go and listen to her speak and have her sign my books. But more than that I feel as though she renewed my love of reading. I have since found several other books that have piqued my interest and I cant wait to delve into them.
If you have any books you think I should read please share in the comments so I can find new books to love and authors.
Thank you Colleen for my love renewed in books and in reading.
Then this happened and I had a fan girl moment
I hope you have a roofus Friday Neely. You may be interested in my book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.
I am so there with you on the love for books! Always looking for new authors, so I will definitely have to pick up at least one of hers – thank you for the recommendation xo
I have always loved reading too! I am currently doing a 2013 Book Reading challenge on Good Reads. My goal is to read 50 books. I can usually do that easily when I have nothing going on, but with school thrown in, I do not get as much free time to read as I want. So I am going to really try and meet my challenge over the summer.
I will have to check out the author and books you mentioned.

I have over 200 books that I have read over the years, feel free to peruse to see if anything grabs you. π
Have a great day sweetie!!
I really need to get back into reading!
I love to read! Two books I’ve recently read that were noteworthy are “The Kitchen House: A novel” By Kathleen Grissom and “The Devlin in Pew Number Seven” By Rebecca Nichols Alonzo.

I might have fan-girled myself over that entire conversation. I am pretty jealous that you are seeing her in August. I want to try to see her around her sometime too. This Girl was amazing, as expected! π
Visiting from TGIF Friday. I’d like to invite you to my Friday Flash Blog, where you can share your best blog entry of the week! The party goes on ALL weekend at thejennyevolution.com. And who knows, you may just get featured next week.

Oh my goodness! I would have been having a fan girl moment too!!! π Thanks for the suggestion on new books to check out, I’ll keep you in mind if I come across a show stopper!
wait wait… amazon says ‘this girl’ comes out in August… I felt the same way about slammed, point of retreat and hopeless… Now I’m feeling left out. How did you get This Girl???
ok, never mind, found it and am downloading it to my Nook for the weekend. Have you read the Reason to Breath series? They’re soo good. Whats with this new trend of delivering the same story from a different characters perspective though? Ive seen it 3 times this year
I downloaded slammed and can’t wait to read it. I am currently reading Beautiful Disaster. Love it!
I had not heard of Slammed. Adding it to my Amazon wish list now!
I love Colleen Hoover’s books too. So jealous you get to go to a book signing.
I’m going to put in a plug for my own book here — “Riffs of Regret.” It’s available on Amazon. I think you’d like it. π
I love that cartoon! I also started reading very young and always excelled. I haven’t heard of Colleen Hoover but I’ll have to check her out. Richelle Mead has really captured my attention lately. The series I’m reading by her currently is teen fiction but I’ve honestly gotten so attached to the characters. Her plots are not simple like many other teen fic novels. Other books I want to read soon are The Paris Wife, The Forgotten Garden and Chanel Bonfire.
Love that reading isn’t completely lost! I don’t keep hard copies with me anymore, because I go through books way too quickly! I have 3-4 books that I’m reading now, and if I find something REALLY good, I’ll be sure to send it your way!
I STILL haven’t read Slammed and it’s been on my to-read list forever! I’ve heard other people rave about it too, so I need to give it a go!
love me some colleen hoover!
I’ve really wanted to read her books, but my library here doesn’t have them!! Not even the kindle books. Boo.
