Funk Busters

Do you ever find yourself in a funk?
You know the kind of meh bad mood that comes out of nowhere and can stay for hours or days?
I get this feeling at least once a week. I tend to attribute it to exhaustion as I stay up late most nights blogging, reading blogs, watching DVR and reading.
However life doesn’t work to where when I’m in a funk I can just lay down and take a nap(someday…)
A while back(probably a year ago) I started collected little things I would find that make me happy(quotes form pinterest, pretty pictures, family pictures, etc) I have a folder on my computer called “Inspiration” in that folder I have several sub-folders(nerd alert) one is entitled(happies).
I go to the happies folder and scroll through it for a few minutes and instantly I feel a bit better.
Other Funk Busters:
-A walk in crisp weather with a cup of coffee(no existent in TX summers)
-Latte’s from Starbucks
-Pedicures
-Counting Crows Pandora Station
-The Kate Spade Website
-Yummy candles and a glass of wine
-Teen Mom or The Hills
-A letter C wrote me that I keep in my wallet
I think its important to have ways of getting yourself out of bad moods, funks and general meh feelings….
What are your funk busters?

  3. Mine is extremely nerdy/80 yr old lady but putting on classical music, usually the Immortal Beloved soundtrack, and a cup of tea help me get back to focus. This is usually employed when I have dishes to do and clothes to put away and then I notice I have not vacuumed an a long time!

Coffee (iced in the summer), peanut butter cookies or chocolate cake, good music, painting my nails, watching clips from Ellen on youtube 🙂

  5. Mine lately is talking to my sister Ginni.
Listening to soundscapes on my television through Cox.
    A good cup of coffee
Lounging in the sunshine or going into the pool
Sticking my feet in the grass at my apartment complex
curling up in my husband’s arms

Crisp fall weather is definitely a funk buster of mine; being able to wear cute sweaters, boots and hoodies always make my day a tad bit brighter.

  10. this is a great idea! If i can, I take a nap. I totally believe that re-waking up can help a funky day. I will also spend my daughters entire nap time out on my porch with a cup of coffee and read or have peaceful online time.

Usually, my go-to is a nap. Or a workout. If that doesn’t work, then I just call my BFF. She can usually make me laugh and cheer me up.

My funkbuster is music! Turn it up and break out in dance! Or, if I’m at work, tap my toes and bob my head, move my shoulders and groove the funk away!!

My funkbuster is going to thrift stores. Seriously, I can leave with LOTS or nothing but every time… I’m in a better mood when I leave. At school, I have a folder in my desk called “Need Some Inspiration?” and there are drawing and letters from my sweet first grade loves that remind me why I teach. :o)

I know exactly what you mean! I’ve been in a weird funk all week…it sucks! Maybe I’ll listen to your advice and go get Starbucks 🙂 I would look at the Kate Spade website but that would make me more sad since I can’t afford anything on it haha

Hope you have a great weekend!

Nothing a glass of wine, ora thought of a wine can´t fix here. Or if that does not help, I go for an early lunch alone and go for a walk!

This is fantastic! I frequently get in funks- i’m like that once a week too or so. That is a great idea…I’m going to need to do something like this. A ‘happy list’ or folder or something to go to when I’m feeling down. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I’m catching up on blogs… because I have been in a funk! Thanks for this post! Spa days could cure almost any of my funks, but my budget doesn’t allow for that many funk days! 🙁
