10 Books To Make You Happy

I love to read! It’s always been a hobby that really makes me happy. I love books of all different genres. But sometimes I just want a book that’s going to put me in a good mood and make me happy. If you sometimes just need to read a book that’s a good pick me up then you will love these 10 books to make you happy that I’m sharing.

10 Books To Make You Happy

The Happiness Project I found at just the right time. It was 2011 and I was going through a tough time. I joined a book club where we focused on one chapter per month. Since the book is written out over 12 months it’s great for people who want a little happy, a little self-help, and only want to read one chapter a month.

Better than Before is another great book by Gretchen Rubin. It’s essentially a great book about habits, and getting yourself on the right track. Always puts me in a good mood!

I am a huge fan of Emily Ley’s books and Grace Not Perfection is my favorite. It’s something I pick up and read parts of when I really need a boost.

I love the 52 Lists books. The 52 lists of happiness isn’t a book exactly it’s a workbook so maybe this is cheating but reading through it and working through it it will absolutely make you happier.

I like most people just LOVE Oprah. Her book, What I Know For Sure is so uplifting and really just feels like a giant hug.

Growing up I was a huge Judy Blume fan. Like most girls around the ages of 10-13 I felt like she hung the moon. So when the book, Everything I Needed To Know About Being A Girl I Learned From Judy Blume came out I knew I had to read it. It’s a lot of essays by some of the best female authors out there. It’s so fantastic and really takes you back to that pre teenage spot in life.

Sometimes being happy is all about laughing. If you are a Brandi Glanville fan you must read her book, Drinking And Tweeting. She is so candid and to the point and you will find yourself laughing and also sympathizing with things shes gone through.

Pretty sure everyone at this point has at least heard of Rachel Hollis’ book, Girl Wash Your Face. It’s super fun to read and really makes you think about so many things in your life.

Sometimes you just need to NOT GIVE A F*** In order to be happy. The book, The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*** is just that. Cutting though the crap so you can just stop caring about what everyone else thinks is the first step to being happier. Truly.

This is a newer book but Sorry I’m Late I Didn’t Want To Come spoke to me. It was such an easy read and really made me realize that as an introvert or an introverted extrovert I need to say yes more.

I hope you read some of these books and that they make you happy, make you smile, and brighten your day!

  1. Thank you for your suggestions! I like all of them, but The Happiness Project for me was a bit ‘meh’…

I have my book club meeting tonight and it’s my turn to suggest a book so your list comes at a perfect time! I’ve heard so much about Girl, Wash Your Face so I think it’s going to be my book this month. I also like the idea of The Happiness Project and will run that by my group since we meet once a month, it would be perfect.

I’m from Colombia, and there is one book which is called “Parceros” which means “Buddies”. This book is written by two influencers/actors who are very recognized in Colombia, they are a couple and they tell about their relationship in a funny way!

I would love to read the books you mention above! they are the kind of books that I like to read

I’ve read every single one of these books! I’m so basic, lol. While some of these books did change my opinion of the authors for the worse, “What I Know For Sure” was phenomenal!

  9. I have heard of the Happiness Project but not read yet. Honestly, it’s not so much any one book makes me happy, as the ***having the uninterrupted time to just do absolutely nothing and read as long as I want*** that makes this busy mama happy! 🙂
