12 days of Christmas BC: Day 1

I am so excited to be participating in Molly and Aly’s 12 days of Christmas Blog Challenge! You should link up too!!!

Day 1 is Christmas/Holiday Traditions:

Well I will break this up for ya with the different traditions I have:

Neely/Mommy Christmas traditions:

Christmas Eve we watch All I want for Christmas with Thora Birch. We have been watching it for roughly 20 years….its a fav of ours

Christmas Day we do presents when I get home from my dad and stepmoms and then we go see a movie. We alternate who picks the movie each year. Last year we saw Its Complicated. Last year we also saw a movie Christmas Eve because it was snowing…

Then we have dinner and watch more movies

Neely/Dad/Stepmom traditions:

I go over to their house for Xmas brunch and we eat with my stepmoms parents and then we do presents. We alternate opening them so it tends to take about 2 hours. Then I chat with them and we watch A Christmas Story and then I go home to my momma

Neely/Chad traditions:

These are new because last year was our first Christmas together so we now have a few that we have decided will be yearly….

1. My all time Neely tradition of looking at the Christmas lights around highland park. I have done this with my family and my friends for years and last year was Chads first time to see them and I got to take him 🙂

The singing bears is always a favorite: Fun fact the house this is at is the house of the women that the education school at SMU is named after…
2. Our ornament tradition:
We bought a tree together last year(my first fake tree) and we decided we would get general ornaments and then every year we would each pick out a special ornament and we’d pick one out together.

This was mine last year:

Dallas Cowboys DUH!

And these are pics of the tree in process

Little tree for apartment living…

Tradition 3 the present tradition:

Last year we made lists and we also picked each other out some surprise gifts but this year we will be exchanging them Christmas Eve not 2 weeks prior…ahem…Chad! JK that was me too! He is getting some great stuff this year too hehe.

Some other traditions:

Ally and Drews gingerbread house making party
Bar night with friends
Northpark Mall decorations
Watching The Holiday, Love Actually, Home Alone(1 and 2) Santa Clause and Elf over and over until Christmas.

Hope you guys enjoyed hearing about my traditions 🙂
