50 Questions that will free your mind

I saw my sweet lovely friend Ty do this and thought….that looks intimidating….
So here goes…
Btw I started this 2 months ago….
  1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? 16. I spend a lot of time on emotional roller coasters, I can be convinced to lay in bed all day, I sometimes dress like the teenagers I see at the mall….I really like ABC family.
  2. Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying. I can fail with the best of them but that feeling of what if is the worst EVER.
  3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Fear. I think we do the things we dont like because we are expected to. I think we dont do the things we like to do because we are afraid.
  4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? Probably so sadly. Hence the blog, I say a lot but do I do a lot? I dont know….
  5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?  How the United States is ranked in Education. Last …..not good US not good!
  6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Professional blogger/freelance writer. Nothing would make me happier than being my own boss, setting my own work schedule and doing the thing I love most….writing.
  7. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? I think some days both. I love teaching, I love educating children, but some days it I know there are other things I want to do.
  8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? I would love harder.
  9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? I think in every degree. I have made all my decisions. The first rebellious decision I can remember making was quitting cheerleading in high school. Even that sent my life on a different course.
  10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? Right thing for sure.
  11. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire.  They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.  The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.  What do you do? I always stand up for my friends, I think not saying anything to the people talking crap is just as bad as talking crap about someone
  12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? The world will surprise you in the best and worse ways
  13. Would you break the law to save a loved one? I would. Any day of the week.
  14. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? In some of my rambles….no really.
  15. What’s something you know you do differently than most people? Sex? No Ummm I dont know I mean I think I love differently….dont we all?
  16. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? We are all human. We want for different things. For instance it makes me happy to lay on the couch with Chad and drink a glass of wine…that may not make anyone else happy. It makes me happy
  17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?  What’s holding you back? Run a full marathon….honestly I am afraid I wont be able to finish. I hate starting something I cant finish….scurrrrred.
  18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? yes resentment towards my sister. However I am not sure I will ever be able to let go of that.
  19. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? Chicago, Illinois. My favorite city in the US. Love the people(heyyyy Meghan and Sally) love the shopping, the food, the attitudes and niceness of the people who live there, etc.
  20. Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? Yes I do and no I dont…Im a sucker.
  21. Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? Joyful simpleton for the win!
  22. Why are you, you? Well when a man and woman love each other and lay really close together a baby happens or as it was so brilliantly explained in Knocked UP: Well. I think a stork, he umm, he drops it down and then, and then, a hole goes in your body and there’s blood everywhere, coming out of your head and then you push your belly button and then your butt falls off and then you hold your butt and you have to dig and you find the little baby.
But for serious….I cant answer this.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? I think for the most part. I have selfish moments and for some friends I could have been there more. I think true friends stand by you and I do that. I dont judge, I dont lazily befriend people.
24. Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? Losing touch cause when any of my good friends have moved away I have always stayed close to them. Most of the people I call my best friends do not live close to me. “The ones you love are always in your heart and if you are very very lucky a plane ride away.”
25. What are you most grateful for? Education. I have been lucky enough to have gone to college and grad school and finished both. I think education is the most amazing gift and I am beyond thankful for it.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? Oh god. Never be able to make new ones. I wouldn’t want to lose what I already have. God this is depressing to think about.
27. Is is possible to know the truth without challenging it first? Depends. Is an orange orange? yes I dont need to challenge that truth.
28. Has your greatest fear ever come true? Yep. Lost people I love. That is my greatest fear hands down.
29. Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset?  Does it really matter now? I was thinking about this recently. About how certain dumb crap used to upset me. In the grand scheme of things no it doesn’t matter. But it did at the time and thats whats important.
30. What is your happiest childhood memory?  What makes it so special? Weezie, who I mentioned in an earlier post. Every single memory with her is a happy childhood memory. She was the best. Also: Christmas mornings with my parents before they divorced, movies with my dad, pedicures with my mom, when my mom used to take me to Niemans to go shopping and get a cookie from basically birth on….
31. At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? When Im with Chad.
32. If not now, then when? Hmmm later? hehe

35. Why do religions that support love cause so many wars? Because people as a whole are hypocritical.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil? We can only use our gut and make the best choice. Good vs Evil is different for everyone. Craigslist killer….EVIL.
37. If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job? I would work on becoming a professional blogger. The good thing about being a teacher is I could always go back later.
38. Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing? More that I love doing 🙂
39. Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before? I feel like I have those moments a lot. Im a creature of habit.
40. When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in? Oh god, the day I started my blog? The day I quit my job to go back to grad school….
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today? Parents, grandparents, Chad, Michele, Ashley….
42. Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous? Im ok with my level of attractiveness at this point. I do not wish to be famous.
43. What is the difference between being alive and truly living? we are all alive. But truly living is being happy, doing what you love, being with who you love and only doing what will make YOU happy at the end of the day, not worrying about what others think and how they will feel about your decisions.
44. When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right? Something we should all do all the time. Something I struggle with daily.
45. If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? Sometimes we have to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. I think we all live in fear of “doing the right thing”
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you? Probably work things out with Chad without being afraid of what everyone will think.
47. When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing? No frickin idea
48. What do you love?  Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love? I love my family, friends etc…I think I show that all the time! I also love blogging and starbucks which I show daily 🙂
49. In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday?  What about the day before that?  Or the day before that? Honestly…I doubt it.
50. Decisions are being made right now.  The question is:  Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you? I would love to say making them for myself but I think I let others judgements and opinions influence the decisions I make rather than doing what makes me happy and hoping they support me.
