Makeup Removers

I am a stickler for taking your makeup off at night. My mom told me when I was younger never ever to go to sleep with makeup on. I always remembered that and it’s really true. The one time it happened I woke up and my face was completely breaking out! The worst! So its far easier to take the few minutes to take off your makeup and wash and moisturize your faec before bed.

Here are a few of my favorite Makeup Removers

makeup removers

1. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes: These are great for so many reason! One they are very easy to travel with. Two they are great to take off excess eye makeup that falls when applying makeup. I always do my eye makeup first so I can clean up around my eyes before putting on blush, powder etc. Lastly these are great for getting eye makeup off when you are ready to take off your makeup! After my engagement pictures I had so much more eye makeup on than usual since I went for dramatic eyes and you would not believe how fast it came off with these babies. LOVE!

2. L’Oreal Eye Makeup Remover: I have been using this since early college and I have to say its so gentle on skin. For someone with sensitive skin I am always looking for products that don’t irritate my skin and this does not. I usually use a cotton ball or cotton swab to take off my eye makeup with this product.

3. Philosophy Release Me Makeup Remover: I got a sample of this in a birch box a long time ago and fell in love with it. Its a little pricier than the others but it takes off makeup great and also does not irritate skin. If you are looking for a very quality makeup remover this one is it. I know you can get it at Nordstrom and Sephora.

4. Yes to Cucumbers wipes: These like the Neutrogena wipes are great! These hydrate the skin a little more than the neutrogena wipes at least for me. I also love the smell of them and the fact that they are very cost friendly.

Those are the makeup removers I use. I think all four of them are excellent and they are all in my rotation. Some are easier to travel with but they all do a fantastic job!

What do you use to take off your makeup?

I use to use Loreal’s makeup remover, but now I am using Motives because it is more effective on waterproof makeup.

  2. I use the Neutrogena wipes too! Love them. I tried the Ole Henriksen wipes briefly, but I went right back to the Neutrogena wipes…which are much more affordable anyway!

Believe it or not, I use Organic Coconut Oil. I have dry skin and read somewhere that this was a great makeup remover. It is and my skin feels incredibly soft. I also really like Philosophy’s Release.

When I have a full face of makeup (foundation + eyes), I use Kirkland wipes (Costco brand) They’re really soft and get the job done!. If I have just eye makeup, I just wash my face as normal with a facial cleanser (I do that with or without the Costco wipes). On days I’m lazy and don’t want to wash my face (even though I should), I just use whichever eye makeup remover I have handy and no preference for which. Currently I have a sample bottle of Lancome’s Bi-Facial and Clinique’s Take the Night Off while finishing a bottle of the CVS knock-off brand of oil-free makeup remover
