I have lived in Dallas my entire life aside from a few years away at college and while I love my city I feel I do not talk of it much.
I thought I would share some of my favorite places in Dallas. They are varied in type etc but if you are ever coming to Dallas or moving here etc you may find this helpful!
1. Victor Tangos: One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. It’s in a fun area and has the best menu of tapas style food. From Crab Mac and Jack to Pulled Pork Tacos it’s a place I take all of my friends when they are in town. It’s also got great cocktails and it’s small so it never feels overwhelming.
2. Klyde Warren Park: It’s a park built above one of Dallas’ biggest highways. How does that happen you ask? Pure Awesome. Here you can hang on a putting green, play ping pong, eat from food trucks, play in fountains or on a playground, eat at one of the regular restaurants at Klyde Warren Park, take a Saturday morning yoga class, or just relax and have fun.
3. Mercy Wine Bar: Not only was this Andrew and my second date but it’s one of my favorite wine bars/restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s chill, it’s quiet, it has amazing food and a killer wine list. A must visit if you are in Dallas.
4. Northpark Center: The 7th largest shopping district in America(or so I heard) you can grab a Starbucks and shop at stores ranging from The Gap to Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus to Tory Burch and Burberry even Carolina Herrera and Valentino. It’s quite the experience. You can then go see a movie, head to dry bar and get a blow out, grab something to eat at Breadwinners or La Duni then go grab your car out of Valet.
5. Snider Plaza: Another great shopping and dining place. There are bridal shops, cute boutiques, an AMAZING bakery, one of my favorite stores, Bevello and great places to grab a bite to eat. Just a stones throw from the SMU campus.
6. SMU: You can’t visit Dallas and not visit SMU. Notable alums? Yours truly and my fiancee 🙂 But seriously it has the new and amazing George Bush Library. Plus the campus during the holidays is filled with lights and trees. It is gorgeous all year round and worth a visit!
Have you ever been to Dallas?
I love going on walks at the Katy Trail <3
Kylde Warren and NorthPark are totally the best!! I also love the Nasher, Mi Cocina, and Bishop Arts!!
We went to Breadwinners the last time we were there and it was amazeballs! I enjoy Northpark as well.
I’ve lived in D for six years now, and I totally agree with you on these fun places. I’m dying to see the Oscar de la Renta exhibit at the Bush Library. Oh…and the Perot Museum is pretty cool too!
The extent of my Dallas visit was 6 hours in terminals D & A on connecting flights to Mexico so one day I hope to come back and explore!
I love a good wine bar too. The Klyde park sounds pretty cool too. I like hanging out a fun places like this. It’s outside and the surrounding environment is nice. I hope your having a great Thursday!
Great post and perfect timing too! We will be vising Dallas soon and can’t wait to check out these places!
Great list! Since I’m still new to the area, I’m constantly looking for new places to check out! So far on the list I’ve only been to Klyde Warren and Northpark.

I’ve never been to Dallas. Honestly, the only place in Texas I’ve been is El Paso. And I disliked it lol.
The only part of Dallas I see a lot of is the airport. I love hearing about other people’s favorite places though. If I ever visit longer than a layover I will keep these places in mind.
I have not been to Dallas yet, but I definitely want to go to that park above the highway!
I’ve never been to Dallas. It always brings the actual TV show into my head wheneverI hear the name Dallas.
I have never been to Dallas, but Crab Mac and Jack sounds incredible!!
