Holiday Traditions

I don’t know when it started. I guess sometime around birth? I have always been enamored with this time of year. The lights, the hot cocoa, the candy, the decor, the movies, everything. I just can’t get enough. Something happens to me on November 1st and my whole demeanor transforms. My husband laughs because as soon as Starbucks releases the red cups and holiday music is on the radio, I am in a perma good mood until January. January is very depressing guys. Holiday traditions, at least certain ones, have always been a part of my life. From hot cocoa non-stop to candy cane kisses by the bag full. I wanted to share a few of my favorite holiday traditions with you guys in hopes that it gets you a little more in the holiday spirit!

Movies: Andrew and I love holiday movies. Especially the Home Alone movies. We probably alternate between Home Alone and Home Alone 2 every single day till Christmas. I have a strict rule of no holiday movies before November 1st, so we get as much out of it as we can. I also really love the movie, The Holiday. One night every holiday season I curl up with some hot cocoa or tea and this movie.

Treats: Hot cocoa is nothing new, but when paired with a fun holiday mug it seems a lot more cozy to curl up in front of the fire with. Let’s not forget those delicious holiday candies. Candy cane kisses are my absolute favorite. I have to limit myself.  This adorable mug with the cozy wrap and this candy dish are both from Hallmark Gold Crown stores. It really gets my kitchen in the holiday spirit.  Check out this fun video below of the Mug and Dish in action!

Decor: We have personalized stockings that we have used the past 3 Christmases and we absolutely love them. We also get a special personalized ornament each year. This year was even more special because we have gotten to purchase a lot more decor for the outside of our house as it’s our first holiday season in the new house. We also got some cute mantle decor. One of my favorite decor items is holiday scented candles. I can’t get enough cinnamon goodness.

Hallmark also has some really great gifts, decor,  holiday cards, and more! Be sure to check them out online or at a store in your area. I was so excited to find so many fun and cute things.

For now here is a little video of a few of my favorite holiday things in action!

I will be sharing more of my favorite holiday traditions as the season continues on, but I would love to know what some of yours are! Leave them below in the comments!
