When you buy your first home, I think one of the things a lot of people look forward to is decorating it for holidays. One of my first thoughts was decorating our house first Christmas. I remember when we closed on our house back in April day dreaming of how gorgeous it was going to look with lights, a Christmas tree, and a decorated mantle. So many things that I had only dreamed of. Well that time quickly came and you bet I was beyond excited. I remember even in October going to decoration stores and snagging holiday decor. One thing I got to be even more excited about this year was using a new camera to capture so many memories of our first holiday season in our new home and decorating our new house for Christmas. I have always been what some call an over documenter. So many times I want to pull out my phone and take photos, but lately I have been pulling out my Olympus PEN E-PL7 camera.

I am obsessed with this camera! It is hands down the nicest quality camera I have ever owned. Also, the photos are so much better than any iPhone camera photos I have seen. The Olympus PEN is built for life on the go: it’s compact, easy to carry, offers automatic setting, and has a vintage style with modern technology. As someone who is always out and about and loves having her camera to capture the moments, I love that it isn’t a giant bulky camera but the quality is still amazing! The quality is that of Professional image quality that I have seen some of the larger cameras show. I could have easily taken these photos with my phone, but the quality would have been so much less and to me the memories captured wouldn’t be as good. Just look at the details captured by the Olympus PEN E-PL7. The a 180° Flip Touch Screen could be used for the perfect selfie but it really helped me capture amazing close ups of our outdoor decorations.
Decorating our house has been so much fun. I love the colors we focused on with our decor this year. I used a lot of golds, reds, and silver with a few touches of blue. We wanted to do outdoor lights all over the house but life got in the way, so we lined our entire yard with candy canes which I love. It makes me feel like our house is a gingerbread house! Our tree is my favorite. I love putting up the ornaments and so many of them are so special to me. Like my engagement ring box that Andrew turned into an ornament since we got engaged a week before Christmas two years ago.
Having the right camera to capture special memories really makes all the difference!
