When we had Liam I didn’t realize how different every baby was. They love and hate different things, and then they get a little older and grow fast (or slow), they have opinions on what they like and don’t like. So now after almost a year there are certain things we always have on hand because we know what our baby wants. So these are the 5 baby items we always have on hand.

5 Baby Items We Always Have On Hand
Diapers/Wipes: This may seem obvious, but have you ever run out of diapers or have you ever realized your baby has outgrown a diaper size overnight? Yep it happens. We have encountered both. Thankfully we live super close to a Sam’s Club because we probably go at least once a week if not twice. Right now at Sam’s Club you can get an instant $10 off when you buy 2 Pampers products at Sam’s Club, making it easy to keep your babies comfortable and dry. As you know we have been using Pampers products since Liam was born so we are obviously taking advantage of this. My suggestion would be to ALWAYS have one box of next size up diapers just waiting in your closet for when they outgrow the current diapers. I would also have a steady supply of current sized diapers. As far as wipes go, buy them in bulk. With this current deal that makes both of those things super easy.

Books: We have tons and tons of books! Liam loves to read and says “book” at least 10 times a day. He knows where his bookshelf is if you ask him “where are your books?” he crawls to them. He will also pull certain books out he wants. So even when we leave the house I always have 2 books with us.
Socks: This kid kicks off socks, takes off socks, and recently starting hiding them. So I try to always have socks handy. I keep a few extra pairs in the diaper bag. I also keep a few in his playroom, and downstairs to easily grab.
Next Size Up Clothes: So recently Liam randomly stopped fitting in his pants. Thankfully I had a drawer of clothes for the next size up ready and waiting. This is something I have done since he was born at the advice of a friend. She said to have a few things of the next size up ready. So we always have a couple of PJs, shirts, and pants just in case! It has come in handy way more times than I want to admit.
Snacks: With a very active nearly one year old who always wants snacks I just have them on hand at all times. He loves cheese, fruit, raisins, and pouches!
I would love to know what you always have on hand for your baby!

I love that you have so many books prepared for Liam! ❤️❤️

Funny – as a grandparent I’ve found having certain things on hand makes life so much easier. The diapers and wipes are at the top of my list too. you nailed the rest of the list – books are up there and what is with them & socks? They take them off every chance they get. Crazy!
We always used Pampers too except for when we cloth diapered! It was the only diaper brand we trusted!
I love this! The sock one is definitely a must have especially in winter.
Having a clothes stockpile is sooo handy!
The diapers and wipes, for sure. I also have hand sanitizer with me at all times. And a blanket!
Yes- snacks!! And books. I always have a change of clothes on hand, too. You never know when you are going to need them!
These are all essentials, most of all diapers. I’m glad we’ve moved beyond that stage but we still have all the others.
Great list. All of these are super handy. We LOVE books for our babies too!
I remember when my little sister was a baby and toddler she was always losing socks! A great thing to have on hand!
Been there, done that X 5. This is a great list. 🙂
Yeah, Diapers are one thing you don’t want to run out of!! Always stay stocked so you can avoid late night trips to the store!
Extra socks are key. My daughters always seemed to enjoy pulling their’s off. I’m also a big fan of antibacterial hand gel
and wipes.
These are all great things to keep on hand! Socks on babies are like magically one minute they are there and the next poof they are gone! I always carried around extra socks too!
great list Neely, thanks for posting!
Oh, you’ll be using wipes and reading books long after the baby stage. I was so thankful to get the little ones out of those diapers.
With the recent addition to my family, I too believe that diapers and wipes should always be on hand and a round-the-clock baby changer… I am getting too old for this! LOL!
I have grown up kids now, but when they were young, I always made sure we are never out of diapers and wipes. OMG, what a scary situation that would be to run out of diapers in the middle of the night! I always remind my daughter to stock up on diapers for her children. Books and socks are also a necessity.
Once we forgot diapers at the pediatricians office. Talk about being embarrassed! Thankfully they had them lol
Even though my kids aren’t babies anymore, we still always have wipes on hand. When they were little, we loved our Pampers! The Cruisers always fit them so well.
YES! I keep wipes EVERYWHERE
It’s always such a good idea to have a set of clothes on hand that are one size up. It’s crazy how fast those little ones grow!
