Greetings, fellow ACWOM readers!! I usually blog over at Life, Love, and Pursuits of Katie, but I’m so excited to be with you guys today! I’m an almost 30 (eek!) newlywed from North Carolina, who loves the Lord, reading good books, watching TV, sports, makeup, and Starbucks!
Valentine’s Day is almost around the corner, and I’m so excited to celebrate my first VDay as a married woman! My husband and I have a pretty unconventional story. We actually met through blogging. 🙂
I started blogging in 2010 and quickly became friends with another blogger, Rachel, who lived in Dallas. Donny and I technically “met” through her on twitter. And if my memory serves me correctly, our first conversation was over my hatred of the Red Sox when they started out the 2011 season with a serious losing streak. 🙂 In May 2011, I went to visit Rachel, and when I got to Texas, I asked him to join us at the rodeo that Saturday night. And he did. 🙂
Yep, we officially met at the Fort Worth Stockyards rodeo. How Texas-y?? After the rodeo, our group went to Billy Bob’s Honky Tonk, where he taught me how to two-step and we tried to avoid being run over by the professional two-steppers who were spinning and flying around the dance floor. After that, we hung out every single day for the rest of my trip.
On my last day there, he took me to lunch and on a tour of downtown Dallas (where we had our first kiss…) before taking me to the airport. I had never been sadder in my life to get on a plane and go home. I had no idea if I’d ever see him again, but it was less than a week before he booked a flight to come see me on Labor Day weekend.
