OK What is an acceptable amount of time to wait before kissing someone when you start dating?
1 date ? 2? A week? a month?
Seriously I need to know this.
Its been a long while since I started dating someone
So B and I have hung out twice and still not kiss
Then last night I had a dinner date with a guy I met over the weekend and no kiss
I am really starting to get a complex y’all
I had my first real kiss when I was 12, his name is Justin and we are still friends and since then I have been well…quite the kisser
But now as I am every minute nearing closer and closer to my 27th birthday(Sunday) I am at a massive lack of kisses
I swear if I dont get kissed this week Im going to pull my hair out
Ok that sounded A. slutty and B. weird
But come on I am dating, I am “playing the field” which I hate and I want to get kissed DAMMIT!

Ummm I don’t think there’s a kissing rule? I personally think kissing on the first date would be awkward. But what do I know? Also, do these guys know that you’re seeing other guys? I’ve never just dated to date, so I have no idea what standard protocol would be!
I’ve definitely kissed on the first date! My husband and I didn’t kiss till the 3rd date and it was a really quick one when he was dropping me off at my house. I don’t think there’s a set rule for when it’s OK to kiss, but I would hope you don’t have to wait too long!

Oh girl, I don’t think there are any steadfast rules to kissing and dating! Don’t they say “all is fair in love and war??!” 🙂 With that said, Alan and I made out like highschool kids on our first date, hahaha! If you’re wanting a kiss–get out there and be aggressive! 🙂 I’m sure we could make up some sort of cheer for you, so that you’ll be ready to get out there and play!
Maybe they’re trying to be gentleman-y. I say if you want it, go for it… I don’t know any guy who would turn down a kiss if you’re dating him!

I love that song! To be honest, I mostly end up dating guys that I’m already friends with, so this rule doesn’t apply. I’d say if they haven’t initiated something by the third date, you should either kiss them or cut your losses, but that’s just me.
I got kissed on the third date with my husband, so my fingers are crossed for you funny girl!
Maybe you need to throw out some more “i want to kiss you” vibes. A guy is NOT going to go in for a kiss if he thinks he is going to be rejected.
But as for timing…I definitely think you should atleast kiss by date #3. One and Two are fine…but three..makeouts should occur! 🙂
Hm, I definitely can’t give any advice on the kissing rule. I’d be the girl who completely waits for the guy to make the first move, no matter how long it takes. And I don’t think that’s good either!

I always thought you kissed on the first date. But Dave and I have been together for 10 years so what do I know. We won’t talk about what happened on our first date. It doesn’t matter. We are married now. I say if you don’t have a kiss by the third date you make the first move. What guy woudn’t love that??

Josh took FOREVER to go in for the kiss, I am talking a month or more, finally I just went in for it myself…I didn’t want to “slide into the friend zone”! He said he always wanted to but couldn’t work up the nerve, so it is a good thing I did!

I love this song!! I’m not really sure what the rules are when you kiss someone. I’d kiss someone on the first date if it felt right. I guess just go based on if it feels right or not? I mean both guys have been extremely chivalrous so maybe they have like a gentlemens code?
I love that song! I say you should take a line from the song and ask! Or like someone else said give off the vibes. If he’s got his arm around you do some staring into his eyes or if you hug just go for it. Don’t develop a complex they are probably just shy. Hubs and I talked until like 6 am after a couple group hang outs and I can’t remember if he kissed me before or after I said we should go to bed and he took it as together and I was too tired to care!
Maybe those guys are waiting for you to make the move! They’re trying to be polite and not kiss on the first date and follow the rules.. Plant one on him!!!

I am horrible at advice like this because I never really “dated.” Robbie and I are HS sweethearts so I don’t have much to compare it to. When we first kissed we were drunk at a party haha! It was way easier that way…then the rest of the kisses came easy 🙂 I’d say 3rd date is a good number though….

Funny story: 1st date: Hubs SHOOK MY HAND! I was sure he wasn’t going to call me again, but he did. 2nd: peck on the cheek. 3rd: finally! 🙂 We’ll be married nine years in July.

It took my fiance and I almost 1.5 months to kiss. Granted he was gone for two weeks out of that. I was just nervous (no one had ever made me that nervous) and he just thought I had put him in the friend zone. Silly boy!
