Creature of Habit

Creature-Of-Habit

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase hundreds of times about someone or yourself being a creature of habit. Well I am beyond that! I love routine. I love eating the same thing for breakfast and I love using the same products. Sure I try new things all the time, but I tend to go back to tried and true loves more often than not! So how am I a creature of habit?

Food: I eat the same thing for breakfast every single day. Of course that changes if we go out for brunch, but mostly 7 days a week I eat oatmeal and a sliced banana for breakfast. For lunch I go back and forth between a massive snack plate of fruit, veggies, hummus, nut butters and crackers, and a turkey sandwich with fruit and crackers. Dinners we honestly rotate through about 10 things we make. I also have a green smoothie every afternoon around 3ish. If this isn’t a creature of habit situation I don’t know what is!

Personal Care Products: I am a one of those people who uses the same brands. I have always used the same brand of tissues, mouthwash, toothpaste, and tampons. I never stray. I have loved  o.b.® tampons since, well forever.  I love using them for so many reasons. I love that they are made for every kind of woman. No matter your shape, size, etc.  The o.b.® tampons are designed to help stop leaks by expanding all-around to fit each unique shape. Fluid-Lock® grooves for locked-in leak protection. The only one with SilkTouch™ cover for ultimate comfort and protection. I am also a fan of how compact they are because they easily can fit into any makeup bag, your car console, and gym bags so easily!

Daily Routine: I can safely say I get out of bed at 6:43 AM nearly every morning. I do not know why but that’s what the clock always says. I brush my teeth, wash my face, do my morning skin care routine, get dressed, and head to the kitchen. I then eat breakfast while I check blog emails and share my post for the day. Then I head to the gym and to run errands. This is how every day starts for me Monday-Friday. See, creature of habit strikes again! Nights are pretty routine too! We do our couples Q&A a day question, watch whatever show we watch depending on the night, and even say the same things to each other right before we go to sleep every night for as long as I can remember.

I will say, as much as some people think being a creature of habit is bad, I love it. I love that there are certain things I can count on each day and I love my green smoothies and oatmeal!

What makes you a creature of habit?

  2. I am definitely a creature of habit. My life runs so much smoother this way. I’m more relaxed and I get more done. Although after being away for the weekend. My routine was thrown out the window today as I had no milk for my morning cup of tea.

I even go so far as to need the same water bottle on my night stand. I can totally relate!

  4. My morning routine is all about habits since I’m pretty much a zombie until I’m out the door with coffee in hand!

Having kids has actually made me less of a creature of habit. They are so unpredictable. I guess that one part my morning routine cannot go without is coffee. if i’m staying home, going to preschool drop off, or running errands. I need my coffee to be a better mama.

I’m a creature of habit too and I don’t like when my routine gets thrown for the loop. My husband is complete opposite though so it’s taken some time to get used to that. 🙂

  7. I am definitely a creature of habit too! I wake up around the same time every day, usually have oatmeal for breakfast and them begin the rest of my daily routine. It’s comforting, but also hard to be spontaneous!

  9. I am too! Every Friday morning I go to The Barre Code and Nekter. I eat my smoothie bowls almost every morning. I wear my hair and makeup the exact same way every day… yes. I am a creature of habit for sure.

The only constant in my daily routine is a cup of hot coffee before anything happens. These kids don’t allow me to be a creature of habit, I never know what they will throw at me!

  11. I work out 5 days a week. It’s such a habit that, on the rest days, I feel like I am missing something.

I’m definitely a creature of habit too. I think the only thing that varies is my bedtime, but it’s usually within the same hour. Sometimes I try to bust out of it and try new things, but it’s tough!

I eat pretty much the same things all the time, and have to have specific things beside my bed like my water bottle. As for morning and any other type of routine I don’t really have one!

  14. I need to be a creature of better habits, lol. My mornings consist of hitting the snooze button until the very last second before I’m going to be “late” for the day. Oh, and I can’t blog unless I’m in my comfy pjs, which is awkward when I’m blogging at the local Second Cup. 😉

  16. I’m such a creature of habit, too and really don’t like for that to be disturbed. I think I need to get that Q&A book for my hubby & I. That sounds like such a fun way to connect and change up the conversation.

I always start the morning with a cup of coffee and checking my emails (I have 4 I use -__-) and facebook. If I don’t, I’m literally ‘off’ for the entire day!

  21. I eat the same thing for breakfast every morning. One week, the store was out of it and I have a rough week 🙂 I love ob tampons. I used them in high school and liked that I could hold it in my hand on a walk to the bathroom without anyone seeing it because they’re so small.

  23. You are so inspiring! I don’t think being a creature of habit is a bad thing at all, I actually find it inspiring. I wish I was better at creating healthy habits. I’ve been trying to since I had my daughter and it’s so frustrating.I think a lot of my struggle with forming good habits stems from how I grew up as a child, especially when it comes to eating. I have never eaten more than 2 meals a day and that’s a horrible habit. It’s hard trying to get myself to eat more healthy meals throughout the day. But maybe someday I’ll have the strength that you have!
