So we are a few weeks into Fall TV and I thought I would share my Fall TV Show Favorites of the new shows this year. Hopefully none of them have been canceled yet.
1. Red Band Society: Oh this is a Fall TV show favorite FOR SURE. I was hooked from a few minutes in and each episode has gotten better IMO. The hot doctor who hales from one of my favorite TV shows, Brothers and Sisters mixed with Octavia Spencer and a cast of young teens that are so convincing with their diseases just boils down to a perfect show. The acting is fantastic just like the story lines. I almost feel it should be on the CW because I wonder if the target audience which is probably teens who loved The Fault in Our Stars is watching Fox. But I know a lot my adult friends who love it too.
2. How To Get Away With Murder: The question here is what can Shonda Rhymes do wrong? The answer here is nothing. Some people may be turned off by the flashback and flash-forward theme but I personally love it. I think it’s very interesting how all of these people are so intertwined. Every week I am honestly disappointed when the show is over. I am impatient I do not want to wait!!!
3. Manhattan Love Story: Love the premise of hearing these two peoples inner thoughts while they are out on their dates and interacting with each other. It’s such a fun premise. I worry it will get canceled as the first few episodes had super low ratings but I am hoping the network gives it a chance. I need a cute fun show to fill my HIMYM void.
4. A to Z: So maybe this one will do it? A to Z has THE MOTHER from HIMYM and some awkwardly cute guy that reminds me of the main character in 500 days of Summer. It’s adorable and I loved that they released it so we could watch it even before it premiered on TV. I think this one is a fun premise too because it tells you upfront what is going to happen. PLEASE STAY ON!
5 Madam Secretary: The lack of Tea Leoni in my life has now been fixed and Tim Daly(who should have never been killed off Private Practice) plus the wonderfully talented Bebe Neworth. Great cast, great writing and about politics. I was hooked immediately. If you haven’t tried this one out you really should. Thankfully they paired it with the Good Wife so hopefully there is a good audience there.
I really like Madam Secretary. I was a bit skeptical when it started, but I’ve really enjoyed the reality of her away from the office. She is one tough and inciteful lady!
Yes to all of those shows! I was intrigued by ‘From A to Z’ because of the two main characters, the mother from ‘HIMYM’ and guardian angel from ‘Drop Dead Diva’. It reminds me a lot of ‘500 Days of Summer’, but in television form, but I don’t think the show will last longer than a season.

I have to admit I haven’t even heard of any of these shows. I’ve been watching Sons of Anarchy, Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model this season.
I forget – do you watch Scandal??? Right now I’m watching The Office and Parks & Rec on Netflix – I’m thinking my next 2 shows will be Gilmore Girls and Parenthood….it is so much energy being loyal to shows #firstworldproblems – but the ones you picked sound awesome!!!
I don’t watch any of these, but I’ve been hearing a lot of people chatter about How To Get Away With Murder!! I’m thinking I may need to start watching it!
I love Manhattan Love Story and Selfie, however I am not sure they are going to last past one season, I was really sad that Super Fun Night lasted only one season, but I feel like these two might follow that one season flow… another show I am liking is “Black-ish”
I am loving How To Get Away with Murder! My husband is also a big batman fan so we are watching Gotham and I have to say, it’s not terrible. We of course have our old favorites…Scandal, Revenge and Grey’s Anatomy!
New reader to your blog! I love this post- I’m such a TV nerd! I am a huge fan of HIMYM, so I feel that same void. I do tend to like Manhattan Love Story more than A to Z. I guess because it’s set in New York. Also, Dana is just such an every women character and the actress is like a current day Meg Ryan. Her character also specifically has the career I thought I would have as a grown up when I was in high school, so I guess its the vicariousness. Also, I love men with beards, so Pete’s a winner in my book. Also, I almost peed my pants and the British or Gay episode, because I’ve literally had that debate with a friend. I have watched A-Z and its good, but I’m not in love.
I’m loving Red Band Society! Also, strangely enough, I’m enjoying Selfie. Of course, How to Get Away with Murder is amazing (Shonda Rhimes can do no wrong, in my opinion!) Great list!
I am so loving How to Get Away with Murder. I just love Viola Davis. I haven’t really watched anything else this fall yet. It’s all waiting for on Hulu, just been too busy. But I do make time for this show.
I’m loving How to Get Away with Murder so far! That’s the only one on your above list that I’m also watching. For the new fall shows, I tend to DVR a lot of them and wait to watch them in bulk til I know they aren’t going to be cancelled. I’ve liked the show Forever so far, but it sounds like it might get cancelled so I’m going to wait to watch the rest of them.
I also enjoy Scandal, Walking Dead, and basically anything on the CW 🙂
I have been wanting to watch How to Get Away with Murder! Everyone is giving it the BEST reviews. I will def need to check it out. I have been watching basically everything else. Nashville, ANTM, Manhattan Love Story, Selfie, New Girl, Modern Family… I could keep listing.

I have, like, no time for TV these days. I think the only one of these I’ve even tried was Manhattan Love Story and I didn’t like it.
I love RBS, however totally forgot about the Tea Leoni one. Must check it out!

I love fall TV. I’ve actually never heard any of these shows though! I hate when they cancel new shows that I’m getting into.
