I’ve always considered myself a bit of a movie buff.
I try to see anything and everything that looks good. Sure over my older and wiser years my taste in movies has gotten a bit more refined.
Lately I have seen quite a few movies, I guess its a high point in movie season.
One things I have seen in several of these movies…food trucks as a climax in the movie….but seriously.
SPOILER ALERT
1. The Five Year Engagement: When Jason Segals Character and Emily Blunts character break up and he realizes he misses being a chef he buys an old ambulance and opens a Food Truck. They get back together, food truck and all…happy ending.
2. What to expect when you’re expecting: When Nate Archibald and the cute girl from Up in the Air and Twilight(yes I know her name is Anna Kendrick) meet they both have food trucks…ruh roh major competition + sexual tension= a baby. OK after she miscarries the baby and they FINALLY get back together…they combine their food trucks….HAPPY ENDING AGAIN!
3. Think like a man: Super hot sweet man falls for really successful woman. He claims he is a chef, he is really a cater waiter. They break up, he discovers his potential and opens ….yep you guessed it A FOOD TRUCK! They reunite and HAPPY ENDING!
OK I get it food trucks are amazing. They have a billion in Dallas and I even discovered an app for finding ones near you and it tells you where they are on any given day. The app is called TruxMap….You’re welcome.
It made me laugh so hard cause I’m sitting in the movie and he see’s an abandon truck for sale and I screamed out(much to the dismay of the other movie goers) “HES GONNA OPEN A FOOD TRUCK!” How did I know? Because it was the 3rd movie in 3 weeks where I have seen this happen.
Mind you I loved all 3 of these movies, I’m a sucker for a romantic comedy…hi Im a chick!
But come on movie writers…we get it its a great fun trend and we are all excited for this cheaper date option and who doesn’t love a taco or a cupcake off of a truck. We are the children of Ice Cream trucks…we love us some food from a truck…BUT….
Get a new idea. 10 years from now if food trucks aren’t a thing anymore people watching are going to be like WTF? Why are all these crazy people eating food from a truck…don’t they know its all about food from trains now?
I kid.
I think this is great, keep the food trucks a comin cause this girl loves her some taco’s from a truck.
Have you tried a food truck? Have you noticed this trend?

Trend, yes, Fort Worth recently opened a Food Truck Park… fav truck Red Jett Cupcakes.
I have only eaten from one food truck and that was from the hot dog truck around the corner. It was pretty good, but nothing to sing home about. Is that the right phrase? Hope life is well now that you’re back in the hot hot Texas 😉
I completely agree.
Food trucks are cool but they need to change it up a bit.
@Amanda- I think it’s “write home about,” but I like yours better! I’m using it from now on
Never tried anything from a food truck… don’t have those in small towns in the middle of nothing and more nothing.
My favorite food truck ever is called The Grilled Cheeserie….amazing!!! 🙂
STL is starting in on the food truck craze but I have never tried anything from there. We went to a festival over the weekend and there was one called the Cheese Shack. Pretty interesting!
I wish we had food trucks! I need to see those three movies LOL, funny they have food trucks in common!!
I don’t think I’ve ever ate anything from a food truck! They are not a thing here in Phoenix I guess. I loved What to Expect, such a cute movie!
I live in NYC (food truck central) and I have to agree that they usually add happiness to my day! There’s something so fun about getting food that way and so convenient for lunch breaks! Need to check out that app 🙂

Food trucks are HUGE here in Honolulu!
Love me some food truck grub =)
There are different food trucks right outside my office everyday so… I LOVE ‘EM! So much variety; my favs are momogoose (weird name, I know haha. They have noodle/rice/or salad bowls with diff kinds of either chicken, pork, or tofu), the grilled cheese one and of course the fro-yo truck!
I also love all the food truck festivals near me!
Ok when I think about food trucks, I think about the trucks that would come feed the workers when our home was being built in Nashville. I just could not eat out of one! Apparently I am not seeing the right food trucks!
“10 years from now if food trucks aren’t a thing anymore people watching are going to be like WTF? Why are all these crazy people eating food from a truck…don’t they know its all about food from trains now?” HAHAHAH I loved this.
Oh man, food trucks are the new trend here. There’s a food truck fest downtown on the first friday of every month. YUM
I’m not sure if we have any in Memphis… I’ve never really seen any. Except for a couple of times in the ‘hood’ where I saw burrito vans.. HAHA!
Agreed– one of the main guys in the show Happy Endings also has a food truck. It’s a bit of a crazy fad right now. Be more creative, writers! ps– I’ve never actually eaten food from a food truck. But now that I know they have them in Dallas, I’m going to have to find one next time I’m there!
