There are times in life, when you have to stop, hit pause and reboot.
Those times often come after months and months of no free weekends, mass amounts of work, stress, and crazy life altering decisions or changes.
This weekend I needed to hit pause. In my type A ways I had been planning my pause weekend for about a month. I told A that under no circumstances were any plans to be made this weekend aside from grocery shopping and working out. None.
My weekend looked a lot like this:
But started by me having a mani/pedi and doing something I never do which is saying yes to the during the mani/pedi neck and shoulder massage which was life changing…omg will always be doing this. The mani color I chose was Essie Turquoise and Caicos
I came home and cleaned up cause honestly I cant relax in a mess then I set up shop
One of my favorite families went to Houston Friday and knowing I had never been to Buccees sent me a picture of the shirt they got me
That night A made pizza and we relaxed
Saturday I layed around all day and A went to the shooting range. We first went grocery shopping at the new Whole Foods and I treated us to some pretties
Then he went to the gun range and I napped
Did some yoga
Then I did some light reading
While A came home and basically crashed I sipped on some beer we purchased at whole foods
The koozie was from a wedding 🙂
Clearly he was tired haha.
We had fajitas for dinner
Sunday was spent working out and more relaxing and blogging of course!
How was your weekend and doing you ever just need to hit pause?

Looks and sounds like a fab weekend to me 🙂 Wish I could just hit pause… my life is out of control right now wah
Low key weekends are probably my favorite! I always feel much better than when I try to pack a million things into two days. Our weekend was filled with my favorites…a trip to the Farmer’s Market, strolling the uptown shoppes, meal planning and shopping for our Whole 30 challenge. 🙂
Sometimes you gotta hit that reset button girl! I know that feeling!! But your weekend looked very relaxing! And I have that color by Essie! I LOVE it!
I adore weekends like that! I need to plan one stat!
Pause is my middle name on the weekends, just wish sometimes I actually lived up to it.
Sounds like a good weekend! I needed to hit an “emotional pause” this weekend. It has been on overload. Today I am getting some MAJOR news and I may need to hit the pause button for awhile.
We had a low key weekend as well. It is so easy to go-go-go and never stop. Glad you were able to reset some.
These are usually my fave kind of weekends. Love those flowers!
Yes- I love hitting the “pause” button.
July has been super crazy for us- a first birthday celebration (pretty big deal in my culture), 2 surprise baby showers, a family reunion, and a wedding! We just have to get through this next week and I’m pretty confident life will be back to normal (well, whatever that is).
I’m happy you were able to take in some much needed rest!
I need a weekend like that! Wanna watch K for me??? lol
I need one of those weekend! Sounds amazing!
sometimes you just have to slow it down! i need to plan a weekend like that asap! cheers to you relaxing
Carly
I need to hit pause quite often! I REALLY need my down time. Jammies and the couch are sometimes all you need to feel better.
I can totally relate having to hit the pause button!! Looks like you had a great weekend, I love that nail color!
🙂
I am learning that hitting pause is something that HAS to happen! I did that this weekend too, in the mountains in a camper away from my phone, computer EVERYTHING! Good for you, for taking care of YOU this weekend! 🙂
That’s basically what I did this weekend. I told my boyfriend that we were not making any plans or doing anything. The month of July was just draining on me and I was so excited just to have a peaceful, relaxing weekend. Glad you had one too!
Sounds like a lovely weekend!
