Men and Makeup Survey

Surprising Survey on Men and Makeup
A recent survey of men in the UK has thrown up some pretty surprising results. The quiz was all to do with makeup, for both women and men.
The main fact that came out is that UK men seem to prefer women who wear less makeup – three quarters in fact! It’s true that some women can really pull off the natural look, and the Duchess of Cambridge was one of those given as an example. Excessive use of foundation was cited as the main turn-off for men, with streaky fake tan coming a close second.
Somewhat ironically, 48% of the men surveyed admitted to using beauty products themselves, like teeth whiteners and eye-rollers.
On the flip side, 93% of the men surveyed did say that a small amount of makeup could improve a woman’s look, which I think we all knew already. Many experts have argued that it does in fact take a lot of effort and some makeup to get that ‘natural’ look, which isn’t really as innocent as it might seem.
So what’s the lesson here? Men like women with less makeup, or at least they thinkthey do. Some of us are just really good at applying it.

I think this is true. Men think they like less but given a group of women 5 with no beauty products and 5 with lots of make up giving them the natural look I think the results would say something different.

  2. GAH, I swear it takes me longer to get the “natural look” when doing my makeup than it does when I want to actually get dolled up and look like I’m wearing it!
