So I have shared A LOT of book posts on here, but there are some books that I read and reread over and over. I know some people are very anti rereading and that’s fine, but I love it. I feel like it’s comfort food. Some books just really stick with you. So today I want to share my favorite books and most of these are in similar categories but hopefully some of you will find new reads!
My Favorite Books
This is for sure a newer favorite, but I can’t stop thinking about The Idea Of You. I have made so many people read it. I first heard about it on one of my favorite podcasts, Bad On Paper. I read the book in a day and then reread it. I have probably read it 4 times. It’s so good and it really rips you apart.
One of my favorite books is by Bethany Chase, and it’s called The One That Got Away. So this book follows Sarina, an architect living in Austin, TX. She is in a long term relationship with a really great guy but the one that got away comes back into her life and she can’t help but be drawn to him. It’s such a great read and if you’ve ever had an old relationship come back into your life you will totally relate.
Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors. She can do romance, thriller, plot twists like no other. All of her books usually smack you across the face with some twist 2/3 through that you did not see coming. Two of my favorites of hers are Ugly Love and All Your Perfects. All Your Perfects hit so close to home for me for its story of infertility in a marriage. Both books are truly wonderful.
Taylor Jenkins Reid is another one who smacks you with a plot twist. My favorites of hers are her two first books. Forever Interrupted and After I do. I know most people love Daisy Jones and the Six and The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo but to me her first two are her best two.
I would like to preface this next one by saying save your judgment! LOL Tori Spelling’s book Stori Telling is so so so good. If you are at all interested in Hollywood bio’s you need to read this! I just suggested it to my friend, Heather and she said it may be the first book she finishes in the last 10 years.
I love Shonda Rhimes for her TV shows obviously, but her book, The Year Of Yes is one of the best books I have read. It’s equal parts bio and self help and really has you look at things differently in your own life.
Lastly, one of my favorite books I read the past few years was Educated. Such an interesting book about this woman’s life and her education or lack there of growing up.
So these are just some of my favorite books but please comment below with some of yours! I would love to add them to my reading list!
Thank you for sharing your favourite reads, Neely! I know you get through a lot of books so I trust your recommendations a lot! ❤️✨

I’ve been needing a new book! Thanks for the list (:
I recently finished up my current read and will have to check out The Idea of You. It’s been recommended by a few people so I’d like to see what it’s all about.
I need to read more! Such an interesting post!

Thanks for the great suggestions and ideas! I have never heard of, let alone read, any of these, so will have to check them out when I work thru my current backlog lol…
I enjoy Madeline Baker’s writing style and the fact that she goes to great lengths to make sure that they are historically accurate. Although, her historical romances aren’t for everyone.
I love to reread books. If they were that great, I have no problem reading them again. I have lost count how many times I have reread Harry Potter!! These are all new books to me and I will be adding a few to my to-read list!
I’ve heard so many good things about the Year of Yes book. If it is anything like the shows that Shonda Rhimes creates, I am sure it is amazing.
I am looking for good books to read this summer. You have quite a selection there, love it. I will check some of these books tomorrow. Thanks a lot.
I haven’t heard of any of these! My current favorites are I’m Afraid of Men by Shraya Vievek, The Black Tides of Heaven by J.Y. Yang, and a yoga book Yoga for Everyone by Dianne Bondy.
I’m such a reader and have never read anything by Taylor she kind Reid. I’ll have to add these books to my to-read list.
All of the books above look awesome. I think I will have to get a copy of the Ugly Love
I haven’t read any of these but now I’m adding a bunch to my list!
I’m not an anti reading but I just don’t have time even if I love to. Thanks for your recommendation, I greatly appreciate it.
I haven’t read any of these books so thank you for the ideas. My favorites right now are by the author Nora Roberts. I’m working my way through her collection but all of them so far have been great.

Forever, Interrupted looks great. I just read the synopsis on Amazon and added it to my wishlist!

I am reading “Educated” right now, and it is a great book so far. I just finished “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens, and it is BY FAR the best book I have read in a long time! I am an avid reader, and read every single day. This book captivated me from page one, and I was so sad to have it end. I have to admit, it broke my heart, however.
I just love the book Year of Yes! I read it last year and couldn’t put the book down. That good!
Those books sound interrsting. I find my reading habits to be just like my writing habits. I like business books, real estate, travel and self improvement. I make certain I read on my phone or a book daily. Reading is so relaxing and you always learn something new. Blogs always give something new to learn too.
