Oscars: Who should win who will win….

Well about 2 months ago I did a blog about the Golden Globes…who should win who will win and last time I checked…I got them all right πŸ™‚

So listen up!

Here are my pics for tonight…

the big one…

the mother of all award shows

OSCAR OSCAR OSCAR!!!!!!!

Best Animated Feature:

Should/Will win: Toy Story 3
Probably the biggest lock of the night. The 3rd movie in the most fun trilogy ever will take it!

Best Supporting Actor:
Should/Will win: Christian Bale, The Fighter. If he doesnt win you will see a very unhappy Neely for a long while. Give it to batman!

Best Supporting Actress:
Should Win: Melissa Leo the fighter. She was the core of that movie and will hopefully take it home.
Will Win(maybe): Haille Steinfeld, True Grit. Heres what could go down: Melissa Leo and Amy Adams split the vote for the flighter and it goes to 14 year old Haille for True Grit. Now dont get me wrong…she was great but Im pulling for Melissa.

Best Actress:
Should/Will win: Natalie Portman, Black Swan. OK now we all know that the movie traumatized me but the girl trained for a year, did all her own dancing, and lost around 25 lbs to play the tiny dancer. She will be getting her first oscar tonight.

Best Actor:
Should/Will win: Colin Firth for The Kings Speech. I watched Bridget Jones last night and was reminded why I love Colin Firth. He’s dreamy and adorable and makes me want to move to London and find a look alike. He will win tonight and If he doesnt…id be shocked!

Best Adapted Screenplay:
Should/Will win: Aaron Sorkin-The Social Network. I mean come on…he wrote the west wing people!

Best Original Screenplay:
Should Win: Another Year by Mike Leigh

Will Win: Kings Speech David Seidler.
This is the category that always goes nutty. No one ever wins who people think will win so Im actually assuming this one Ill get wrong. Hoping for MIke Leigh πŸ™‚

Best Director:
Should/Will win
David Fincher: The Social Network

Im cheating a little here and using statistics. 9/10 times the winner of the directors guild award wins the big one. So David Fincher enjoy your oscar ….we enjoyed your movie! (Note I was wrong about this) Tom Hooper won. But I still think David Fincher should and will win

Best Picture:

Should Win: I cant let go of what my favorite movie is and I know im wrong here but The Fighter. I loved it but It doesnt have a shot in hell.

Will Win: The Kings Speech. Social network lost some steam as the British golden child picked up speed. Its gonna be the big winner tonight!

Well Ill be live tweeting red carpet at 5 CST and the Awards at 7:30 CST so tune in and tweet along with me.

Also just for fun leave me in the comments if you agree or disagree with me πŸ™‚

  6. I’m excited about the Oscars cause I love seeing the gowns, but the only movie I’ve seen from that list is Black Swan. I’m not so much a movie person . . . but I’m definitely a gown person! haha. My predictions are more about who will wear the most beautiful/fugliest dress.

  7. I am rooting for The Fighter too. It was my favorite movie this year by far. Although it doesn’t stand a chance of winning I am happy it was nominated.

Ok, so I am SO glad someone else loved “The Fighter” as much as I did. Christian Bale’s performance was unbelievable in it! I am SO SO SO SO happy he won the Oscar. I know it won’t win Best Picture but, oh well, a girl can dream! Lol

Totally appreciate this post and all the predictions, but my favorite part is the fact that you used the word “dreamy” when describing Colin Firth. hehee πŸ™‚
