Realizations

Back around my birthday I realized what a good friend really is.

I also realized what a good friend really is not.

In the past 3 years I have been very disappointed by some of my supposedly “best friends.”

I know as girls we all go through this so I don’t spend too much time dwelling on it.

I also know that I have some truly amazing friends.

I also have a really amazing family

And a spectacular boyfriend who amazes me everyday.

I refuse to let the actions of SOME people stay with me anymore.

Some people are just selfish and only care about themselves and what gets them further in life…thankfully I have a lot of people in my life that aren’t like that.

Im also so lucky to have such amazing blog friends that have been there for me even if they aren’t people I hang out with. Have you guys ever stopped and realized what an amazing community we have? When I have needed support the most I found it right here and for that I am truly blessed. I hope we all continue to support each other and be there for each other….

Ok sappy/ranting post over

Have a great Weds night everyone!!!

P.S. I fixed a clogged drain today all by myself…I feel empowered.

  1. I totally agree! I love the blog community and I probably talk to bloggers more than some of my girlfriends! You all might even know more about me than my girlfriends.

I was disappointed by my best friend too we haven’t talked in over a year now. It sucks but it happens.

Oh Neely, I could have written the part about best friends myself too! In high school, the people who I thought were my best friend really were not. They would be nice around me and include me and then go and talk behind my back when they were together. I really only talk to one of them now. It makes me sad, but I do not think that I will ever be a good friend with the other 3 ever again. I do have some really great friends in my life now and I love love love my blog friends like you! thanks for always making me feel better!

  6. I couldn’t agree with you more! Bloggy friends are just different and better in some ways! Being able to feel like you can be so honest with people is a good feeling.

Realizing some friends who you thought were worth your time aren’t anymore, or at least for now, is a tough pill to swallow! I hope you have a fabulous Thursday!

You’re right. At this age people are just disappointing me with their selfishness… but then again, they are growing up and starting families and it’s selfish of me to want them there all the time. It’s a lose-lose situation! Wait until you have to plan a wedding… then the real disappointment with friends sets in! LOL
