Surgery…if you are easily grossed out do not read this post…You’ve been warned

Day 1:

So on Monday I had a surgery to remove a cyst in my back. Was supposed to be easy peasy. When my mom took me to the Dr they were running 30 minutes behind, no big deal…I could play on my iPhone. Once I got back there they put me in this paper towel like dress thing where my ass was showing eeeeep. They gave me a local which felt like my back was on fire and the Dr. swore up and down that was the worst part. About half way through the surgery I could feel what she was doing and shrieked. She gave me a 2nd dose of local which again sucked ass. When she was done and I was stitched and bandaged I sat up and vomited. Twice. They said all the blood rushed from my face probably due to TWO blood vessels bursting while getting the cyst out. I am anemic and loss of blood is hard for me. I then got very ice cold and started uncontrollably shaking. They made me lay down and drink water til I felt ok enough to leave. THANK GOD for my mom who took me. I went home got in bed and attempted to sleep. That still has not happened for more than an hour at a time because Im a back sleeper or a right side sleeper and its on the right side of my back.

Oh here is the cyst its gross you’ve been warned…

Lets just say my surgeon understands bloggers now “Dr. Dressel is it weird if I take a picture?”

Day 2:

Woke up at 5 AM with a 100.1 fever and in massive pain. Called Dr at 8 to see if I could get pain meds….”No you should be fine with advil and dont worry about the fever thats normal.” Oh is it?

Spent all day watching Netflix and gchatting with the boy.

Took a shower which proved to be a lot harder than I ever though a shower could be. Forget about drying my hair that hana hair dryer weighs about 90 lbs

Today is Day 3:

Im just hoping I can walk downstairs today in less than 5 minutes.

Should have pathology reports by Friday so think good thoughts!!!

Happy Hump Day!

    Is it weird that I think it’s cool you took a picture of the cyst? LOL.

    I’m sorry that the surgery went a little less favorable than you desired (okay, looks like it was terrible). I hope that you start feeling better STAT!

    Gah! That cyst is crazy. It is actually about as big as the piece I have removed from my back. I also had to have 2 rounds of local because half was through, i started to feel EVERYTHING. Generally, I’m not squemish but I caught a look at all the skin they had removed (they didn’t mean for me to see) and I got so sick to my stomach. I managed to make it back to work for a few minutes, pick up some food and then stuck my butt on the couch. I felt like I was going to puke for the rest of the day but luckily no fever. My worse days of pain were the second and third day. After that, things got much easier so I hope the same for you! Take it easy though and let your body heal 🙂

    That’s not gross. I had fibroids removed from my uterus in August and I was begging them after I woke up from anesthesia to let me see them. They finally brought me a picture, and one of the nurses snuck one to me so I could take it home with me. They’d never let me see the real things though. I hope you’re feeling better. Surgery is just no fun.

    Wow! I hope the pathology report comes back clear. My dad had to have a cyst removed from his back years ago. I remember how hard it was for him. I am thinking about you and praying for a smooth healing process. {cyber hugs}
