In Dallas, TX we have carnivals that sometimes pop up in random unused parking lots
I think its weird and awesome at the same time. I try not to think about the fact that someone manually put up the ferris wheel otherwise I may begin to fear them…
I digress
When Chad and I started dating in July of 2009 a carnival had just popped up near Valley View mall which isnt far from my house. In fact it popped up the morning of our first date. I didnt think anything of it at the time. That next weekend when we had our 2nd date Chad pointed it out and I was like “Oh we should totally go.” It stayed for about a month. It was a long running joke because we always said “Yeah lets go.” And we never did. Like clock work every 4 months it would show up…July…November…March…July…November…
Everytime it would pop up it would happen on or right before the 6th of the month(our anniversary)
We thought it was so funny as we both love fairs and carnivals it was like it was our personal anniversary gift. Yet we still never went. Still joked about how we should go but nope we never did!
….it didnt show up this past March though.
Chad and I were broken up.
We got back together April 3rd(my birthday) The next day the carnival appeared. I thought it was sooooo ODD!
I was dreading July 6th last week because its our anniversary and we were on a break and not really talking for a few days. Wednesday we did see each other and talk and decide to work everything out. While I was taking Chad home that night(I had picked him up after work). We noticed the carnival was being set up!
WTF!?!?!? It was July 6th and the carnival was being set up that day! The day of our anniversary!?!? The day we decided no more break lets work this out!
I was floored. I started crying. I couldnt believe it.
I feel like we should probably go to that carnival now….

Do. Not. Go! We have those set up around Houston all the time too and they’re SO not legit. A family friend rode the Farris wheel and the cart came open mid air!

I definitely think you need to go. I always thought a mall parking lot was an odd place for a carnival. They set up in the mall near us too!! Crazy! I have always thought we should go, hubs doesn’t share the idea. haha.
