Back in October Chad and I were exhausted from weeks and weeks of going out and running around and such so we decided that the first weekend of November would be a “Staycation” It was amazing. We watched movies, ordered in, slept, had so many great talks and just enjoyed being with each other. So when November and December got crazy with holidays, parties, shopping etc we decided that New years weekend was a perfect weekend for another staycation. We both had Friday off and Chads parents were going out of town and we needed to house sit anyways. They have a giant flat screen TV and a fireplace so we were in heaven 🙂
Friday I wasn’t feeling too great so we went to his parents around noon and I ordered a pizza. We watched the rest of How I met your mother seasons 4 and layed on the couch. We busted out the wii and played several hours of new super Mario brothers on it and that was actually a lot of fun. For dinner we got Chinese food and actually ate at the table which I felt was a big accomplishment. Then we watched Good Will Hunting and went to sleep.
Saturday we actually got out of the house but not before Chad made me breakfast and went to Starbucks for me 🙂 I’m a lucky girl.
We went to Barnes and noble and wandered around. I got a book and a new sudoku book. We were going to see Avatar but the times didn’t work for us so after walking around Fire Wheel a little more we went to target for groceries and then picked up Olive Garden(yum). We spent the rest of Saturday night eating, playing wii and watching Inglorious Basterds which I slept through. We started the movie at midnight and didn’t go to sleep till 4 AM! Waaaaaaay too late for us. As a result we accidentally slept in til almost 1 PM! But it was a staycation so I guess its ok. We woke up and I parked myself on the couch for a day of football(Im an odd girl…I adore football) and Chad made me pancakes and went to Starbucks again 🙂
We ordered another pizza that day(clearly I wasn’t counting calories this weekend)
I didn’t go home til 9 PM last night and I was so sad the staycation was over.
It was so nice to spend that kind of time together uninterrupted and not having any commitments to go do anything we didn’t want to do. This week is our 6 month anniversary and I’m so excited to celebrate with Chad. He is truly a wonderful guy and I feel so lucky.
I suggest to everyone to have more staycations. They do wonders for relationships 🙂
