Welcome To MY City

Did you know Dallas is one of the most popular cities for young post grads to move to?

I have partnered with Apartment Guide to Explore Dallas with you! As an Apartment Guide Blog Partner, I will be sharing ideas to make your apartment feel like home.

Dallas has so many wonderful things to do, places to see, and you are never bored here. For people who may not be as familiar with Dallas I’m going to tell you about some of my favorite places(restaurants, bars, shopping and living)!

1. The West Village: A popular place for 20/30 somethings to live, hang out, eat, shop and see the occasional indie flick. I love the feel of West Village and the fact that there is always a great patio to sit on. Another bonus is that the West Village is surrounded by Uptown where no matter which direction you walk in there is a plethora of dining, drinking, living and shopping options.

2. Lakewood/White Rock Lake: For a more chill, relaxed feel this area of town is where its at. I am a huge huge fan of White Rock Lake for many reasons but mainly because of the view you get on a run. On one side of the lake you also have the Dallas Arboretum which always has fun events going on. Also while you’re in the area visit my favorite coffee shop(yes more so than Starbucks) called Legal Grounds. Everything is lawyer themed…love it. There are also tons of great apartments to live in all over the Lakewood/White Rock area.

3. Northpark Center: Referred to as Dallas Premier area for shopping there is really nothing like Northpark. If you are a Dallas native, chances are you’ve been going to Northpark your entire life. You ran up the railings as a child, you snuck into a movie from time to time, you went from shopping at Gap Kids to Limited Too and now probably spend a great deal of time in the massive Nordstrom. You also contemplated freeing one of the ducks or turtles from the pond and worried a child would fall in the fountain.

4. Addison: Do you want to go to a great wine bar? Find less expensive apartments to live in? Have 400 restaurants within 2 blocks? Go to Addison. There is fantastic people watching, numerous apartment options in all kinds of price ranges and there are so many social events. Oktoberfest, Kaboom Town and Taste of Addison to name a few. The living side of Addison is great because Addison circle is such a community! Having tons of friends who currently or have lived there I can say its a fantastic choice with so many different price points, and apartment options.

5. Shops at Legacy: Tons of restaurants, bars, shopping and great apartments that oversee it all. How could you NOT want to live here? For very reasonable prices you can find a great apartment and then be a stones throw from any kind of restaurant you’d want to go to and great shopping and places to hang out. I love going to Shops at Legacy and when you are there make sure you stop in at Mi Cocina….my personal fav.
