In 2002 I started college. This was my knowledge of college: You pick classes, you have no dress code, there are parties and at some point you graduate and get a job. I had no idea that 1. you had to study, 2. You had to go to class and 3. you had to pick and decide on a major and then stick to it.
Flash forward to me at 23 done with school and not loving my job. I mean it was a good job but I didnt love it. After that I nannyed for a couple of years and then decided at 25 to get my masters in Elementary Education. This required student loans as I couldn’t fathom my parents paying for more school. I was lucky to have them pay for undergrad but grad school I just couldn’t. I was lucky to get a Pell Grant and some Financial Aid but I also needed a lot of loans. SMU not a very cheap grad school to attend. So I researched and discovered the best loan option for me was a private loan through Wells Fargo. My experience honestly could have have been better! The customer service was amazing, it took NO time at all to have everything approved and in order and they were always free to answer my questions. Not just on the phone but twitter and Facebook as well which is awesome!
So I got the whole Masters in Education thing while realizing my true passion was Social Media so yes I am paying off student loans for a Masters Degree I am not currently using. I remember back to that Business 101 class I took freshmen year of college back in 2002 thinking…yeah Im never gonna need this. It’s true…I really use nothing from that class haha. Accounting However….
What’s also great about Wells Fargo is the online Community they have set up. You can start threads, comment on threads and ask questions. You can discuss anything from student loans, financial planning, how to pay for college, FAFSA, grants, what to do after college, or just general questions. It’s really an amazing community! I have certainly grown to love reading everything on it. Anyone can use the community and its free to sign up so I highly suggest doing it just because there is so much great information on there! Just go to WellsFargoCommunity.com. Then you can browse and search discussions to find what interests you. Your question may already be answered!
For more information about the Wells Fargo Community, please visit Wells Fargo Community’s site. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own. #WFCommunity #spon
Business 100 is really a useless class! Too broad!
Glad you found something you really love doing though! That is the hardest part!
That’s almost like me! I went to school…at several different schools, for Early Childhood Education. I realized quickly that wasn’t what I wanted to do with my life. But, I didn’t know what it was until a few weeks ago when I landed a Social Media Marketing job! I absolutely LOVE it! I have a WAYS to go, but I’m so excited to be doing something I love!!
LOVE this post!! and SO happy for you, that you get to wake up and do what you love everyday!! 🙂
It’s so awesome to pursue something you really love!! So happy Wells Fargo was so awesome to you.

I have Wells Fargo back when they were Wachovia. I love them. I hardly get into trouble with them and I just recent got a new credit card with them. I am hoping to get the loan through them too because they are awesome. I am glad that you like them too. I am currently thinking of what I want to get my degree in but I am thinking Business because I can use it for just about everything.

I didn’t realize you went to SMU for your grad school. That’s not cheap at all. Eek. BUT! I think it’s so much better that you’re following your passions than doing something you don’t enjoy just to use a degree.
Thank you for the great review on the Community! Let us know if you have any other questions, besides the two you already posted.
