Oh my goodness it’s Tuesday and tomorrow is VACATION time for Andrew and I! YAY!
I hope everyone is having a good week so far 🙂
I have joined a new gym and have been on a crazy workout kick for a few months. It is going really well and I have noticed a huge difference.
Several people have asked what workouts I am doing lately and such since I have talked a lot about getting back into the fitness way of life. I never stopped working out but I stopped being routine about it.
So here is the deal:
I do still love pure barre and try to go as often as I can. I joined a new regular gym which has been awesome. I was given a free training session there and a free month trial and I loved it so I joined. I have not been a gym person since 2011 so this is fun again. I love this gym though. It’s more of a luxury gym but I am a big believer in making things that you really want work in your budget. I personally like nicer gyms, and studios so I just make it work.
I am meeting with a trainer as often as I can. He has me doing a pretty regimented strength workout 4 days a week. I am doing cardio every day for about 45 minutes. I am also doing abs only on the days I am not doing my trainers exercises. I end every workout with 10 minutes of stretching which has been awesome.
I have also started swimming again. I have talked many times about my love for swimming and it has only intensified. I tried a water aerobics class this week and it was super fun. It didn’t feel like a huge workout but when I was done I was exhausted.
They have a ton of great classes that I am excited to try for instance PiYo is something I have always wanted to do and I think a class this week may be on the docket before I leave town.
As far as eating I have been seeing a nutritionist and changing up a lot of things. I am back to tracking food on My Fitness Pal which really I just do to make me more aware of the food I eat. I am a snacker so I have switched from 3 meals to 4-5 smaller meals a day. This has been a huge help.
I am still on my green smoothie kick and my favorite snack lately has been hummus and carrots.
I know this post is rambly but I really just did it for myself to look back on.
I have a long way to go but I am fully committed to working hard and feeling good.
I would love to know what you are doing for fitness and nutrition!!

I need to get back to work on my fitness! I started using a fitbit and that’s been helping!

The only time I went to a gym was in 8th grade when there was an all women’s gym. I went for a year and lost about 40 lbs (I was a chubby kid). I loved it so much. You started on one end of the gym, and with every change of music you’d change your equipment, or jog in place. I loved that it was women’s only- I felt less self-conscious because of it. If I could find another women’s only gym I’d join!

This sounds great — you are making lots of progress! I have not heard of pure barre workouts but assume they are ballet inspired? I need to check them out.
I use MyFitnessPal and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! It seriously has been such a help to me.
I am super poor right now so I can’t join a gym. My alternatives are doing Jillian Michael videos and my Couch to 5K app on my phone. I heard there is some kind of…. stroller exercise class in the city next to me where you do the work out with the kid in the stroller? Sounds a bit bizarre, but the first class is free, so I’m hoping to maybe check that out this week or next.
I need to be better about working out. I have it schedule but I need to be better about planning my workout. I wish I could try a pure barre class.
I had to work hard to make it a habit. I’ve found that if I dress and lace up, I just go!
You’re so good! Taking charge of your health and fitness is one of the best things you can do for yourself. I need to follow your path! Stacie xo
love this!! i am “working on my fitness” too. Love green smoothies and pure barre!

Nice. I’ve been working on getting healthy since May. I first had to focus on eating healthy and eating less to lose some weight. Once I got that under control, I added more exercise into my routine. I take a Ballet class once or twice a week, which I love, and try to do yoga/cardio/weights at least a couple more times a week. I’m looking into joining a gym too!
I’ve been running this summer! I never used to be a runner but I find it kind of relaxing now. I turn on my music and just run. People keep asking me if I”m training for a race but I’m really just enjoying my time to myself and knowing that I’m keeping healthy!
I love swimming 🙂 I don’t get to do it as much as I used to, but it’s still one of my most favorite things!
Great job!! I am trying to stay focused on my fitness too but it can be difficult.
I love hearing how more people are getting back into the gym or are working out more. I’m back in after a couple months off and I’m already feeling fantastic. I can’t wait to see what the next few months brings for us all!
