Well 6 years ago today I wrote my first blog post on this blog. That’s insane to me! I have had a lot of amazing moments and a few not great moments, but I am a positive person so today I want to share the 6 best moments I have had blogging. These are in no particular order.
Having two people I met through blogging as bridesmaids in my wedding. Ally and Ashley are two of my best friends. Ashley was my maid of honor and Ally was a bridesmaid in my October 2014 wedding. This May I am lucky enough to stand by Ally as a bridesmaid for her wedding.
When it became my full-time job. For the past 2 years blogging has been my full time job. This is what I do for money, to pay our bills. I make money through sponsored posts and affiliate links and I have written about it in depth here. Having blogging become my full-time job is something I could have never in my wildest dreams imagined. I thank each and every one of you who read my blog for supporting me.
Being published. I have been published in many online magazines and sources of media, but being published in the Dallas Morning News in December of 2012 was such a great moment for me. Yes it was something I most likely could have done without my blog but having my blog did help. It was honestly one of my favorite days.
Being asked for advice. I can remember the first email I got asking for blogging advice. I can tell you 5 years later it made my day then and I still think of it fondly now. Having someone ask you for advice is a wonderful feeling because you know that they look up to you and respect you. I get several emails a day asking for advice but that first one will always hold a special place in my heart.
Launching my online classes. About a year ago after I had been doing one-on-one blog consultations for a long time I decided to launch an online course for bloggers. There weren’t very many around then and now it seems as though the internet is flooded with them. But starting my courses and then this past October launching 3 with my new blog design and name have been beyond rewarding to me. Helping people grow their blogs is a feeling I can’t put into words.
Every time I hit publish. I know this may seem silly, but I love hitting publish or I guess schedule if you want to be precise since I do pre-schedule most of my posts. A sense of both accomplishment and excitement still floods me as I hit publish and share my thought and opinions with my readers.
I truly love blogging and I plan to keep doing it as long as I can. So while this six year mark is huge, its not even my halfway point in my blogging journey. Act One has been amazing and I can’t wait to see where this next act takes me.
