Wedding Wednesday: 2 Months To Go!

Screen Shot 2014-08-06 at 8.09.54 AM

I have not done a Wedding Wednesday in a long ass time! I figured maybe a little update. Even if you guys don’t find it interesting which is fine I like to remember these things.

This just got real guys. So last Friday we mailed our wedding invitations. Yesterday people started texting and emailing me that they received them. I had my second dress fitting yesterday morning. We do our final food tasting this week. I have my final walk through of the venue scheduled and final dress fitting scheduled. We just ordered the pictures for our guest book. Basically we are done with the planning. I am convinced the reason people get wedding gifts and cake is to reward them for the craptastic world that is planning a wedding.

My thoughts and feelings on the final months of wedding planning may be different than a lot of girls. I honestly have not loved wedding planning. I love that I get to marry the most wonderful guy I have ever known but the actual planning part not my fav.

There are parts of it I have found fun and enjoyable. I love the times Andrew and I sit together on our couch and we pick out pictures for our video at the rehearsal dinner. Or when my best friend saw me in my dress yesterday and I legit thought she might cry. I love thinking about our honeymoon and our post wedding life. I loved cake tasting because well cakes. I love thinking about all of our family and friends being in one place at the same time.

Let’s just say that with two months to go on this whole wedding thing. I’m ready for October 11th. I’m ready to be his wife.

How did you feel about wedding planning?

Oh girlie! I felt the same way!! I was ready to be Tom’s wife… the rest of it had the ups and downs… and so many of the ones you mentioned… but our marriage? Best day of my life!! It was so stress free because of all the stuff I did on the front end!! Lots of excitement coming your way!

ha! well…in a period of 4 months, I met my husband, we got engaged, and got married. I loved every second of it! No stress, no crazy family members, and a quick happily ever after. I had my dress, the flowers, my mom and brother, and of course my man. It’s better than I could have ever dreamed. I think weddings are beautiful but I don’t like being the center of attention and my dad left my life when I was little so that’s always been hard for me when I do attend a wedding. I hope it’s everything you want it to be! It’ll be here before you know it.

You are not alone. The planning is so much work and many parts were not fun at all. BUT it is soooo worth it at the end and it does get better. My experience was not like most because I was trying to plan a wedding while my father fought for his life in the hospital. I was also planning an emergency wedding scenario as well to be done at hospital. Praise God, it all came together and I couldn’t have done it without a few close friends that were amazing!
You’re going to have an amazing wedding and I cant wait to see pictures and video on the blog or fb down the road. Go cake tasting!!

I actually didn’t mind the planning because by the time we got married, we knew what we wanted and it seriously all just fell into place. It was a good time to be us!

Enjoy the final few months, they are going to fly by!

I really did not enjoy wedding planning at all. My husband and I both agreed that if we ever had to do it over again we would just go to Vegas.

So exciting, the countdown is on! Two months until you say I-Do 🙂

My wedding was such a blurr, there’s a few things I don’t remember, but I do remember shaking uncontrollably (my knees anyway) at the “alter” in my parents living room. I also remember the justice of the peace saynig something and I had to say “pardon?” a few times during the repeat-after-me, because all that was going through my head was “don’t cry. Omg I’m getting married! Don’t cry”

  17. Glad you are enjoying wedding planning and documenting these moments. My husband and I eloped but I have decided to renew our vows next year in a wedding type ceremony. I’m very excited.

We’ve just started and it stresses me like crazy. I think I’ve threatened to call it off at least 4 times. I want to marry him. I just don’t know if a wedding is going to be all it is cracked up to be.

  20. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I would say that you should definitely enjoy these moments of planning. It’s fun and excited and an amazing time. However, please also know that the times following that wedding day may not always be easy but remember these moments, the times that you were giddy with excited to marry your best friend. These are the moments that will allow you to get through some bad times that happen in all marriages. Wishing you good luck.

I felt the SAME way – I really disliked planning the wedding and just wanted it to be overwith. That said, when wedding week arrived and the rehearsal day and wedding day were over, I was SO sad. It is such a fun celebration that you’ll never do again. It is truly special. Now that the wedding is over, I am so stress free and happy. Married life is great! It is all worth it in the end 😉

  24. I personally LOVED wedding planning. It was so fun. But my husband and I also did pre-marital counseling while we were wedding planning which was important to us. It’s easy to get caught up in the wedding planning and forget to plan for the marriage, too!

What I remember about wedding planning is that I will never do it again. Next wedding is on a beach, bare foot with a white slip dress and flowers in my hair. I would never do it again with the whole big wedding family crazy throw away all your money on something that takes an half hour. When your really young you want to impress people and make a huge statement, (you should every girl should do the white dress big venue at least once! ) then you learn afterward when the bills keep rolling in that it was not so great. The planning took months and lots of decisions that make literally zero sense in life. It all seems so pointless after the wedding. All the little junk , the money throw out the window, the paper crap, the food decisions. Never Again! You go on a great honeymoon you cannot afford or enjoy because of the wedding bills looming over your heads.. Then you come home to more bills and the first year of marriage is not a marriage, its a financial disaster trying to cope with the wedding details now which are how to pay for everything without maxing out your credit cards and coping with the thousands left in venue bills without ending the marriage over it. That is what I remember because the details were all up to us as we had zero help paying for our wedding. Details=money. then at the 2nd marriage its just about you two and no one else. No details. I am looking forward to that.

Yay for sending out wedding invitations 🙂 We didn’t have much time to plan our wedding, it was a short engagement because we planned it around hubby’s grandparents visiting which was probably for the best because I’m awful at making decisions and just didn’t have an option this way!
