For a little over a month I have been trying something new to help me sleep better, especially on Sundays when it is difficult for me to get a good night sleep before starting the week. I have been using Febreeze Sleep Serenity Bedroom Mist and on occasion ZzzQuil.
The great part about ZzzQuil is that I do not feel groggy after taking it. It also kicks in pretty quick with Febreeze Sleep Serenity Bedroom Mist (which I spray not only in our bedroom but all over our apartment at night before we go to sleep) I am really getting good rest and so is Andrew.
I wanted to let you guys know how I changed my sleep for the better!
To ensure that you start getting a great night sleep make sure that you are drinking a lot of water leading up to bed time so you do not feel dehydrated. Consider making some calming tea before bed as well.
One other thing that has for sure been helping me is exercise. I have always been a huge workout person but this past month I have been doing a Pure Barre challenge. Nearly every class I go to is early in the morning before I get started on work. Working out early has for sure helped my sleep.

We know I have some difficulty sleeping on Sunday, and it turns out other people do too! A recent survey from Febreeze and ZzzQuil revealed, of Americans who struggle to fall asleep more on Sunday night, 68% attribute this to upcoming stresses including the work or school week, job or general. The survey revealed some other interesting insights, that I wanted to share with this infographic:
Fore more tips on getting better sleep make sure to check out my post, 5 Tips for a Great Night Sleep .
And here are a few bedtime routine tips from the National Sleep Foundation:
- Choose Calm & Quiet: Treat your bedroom as your sanctuary from the stresses of the day, keeping work, computers and other distractions out.
- Create Comfort: Invest in a quality mattress and supportive pillows.
- Relax & Wind Down: Establish a relaxing bedtime routine, allowing time to wind down and avoiding activities that might excite you. Avoid using computers or smartphones at least 30 minutes before bed.
- Keep it Cool:Turn down your thermostat to between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit to keep your bedroom cool at night.
I hope you start to have MUCH better sleep soon and if you have been doing anything to help with your sleep let me know in the comments!

We have the same sleep routine! I also use that Febreze and the Zzzquil!
I see you rocking that chair, girl.
I often have a hard time getting to sleep, and found your post very helpful. I really like your tip about lowering the temp at night — going to try that. Thanks!!
I love ZZZquil. I have yet to try the Febreze but I’m willing to try anything to help me sleep! Ever since daylight savings, falling asleep has been a nightmare!
Sleep around here can be blissful one night and stressful the nest, based on what we do differently, and also because we have a toddler who we are having get us if he needs to go to the bathroom. That adds a whole ‘nother level!! Thanks for your tips.
i have never tried the febreeze product but it sounds wonderful! I use ZzzQuil regularly when I cannot sleep. Thank you for the recommendations!

I’ve used that room spray before and it does smell amazing. Tea and a book will almost always put me to sleep. Unless it’s a really interesting book and then I stay up way too late… =)
I have Febreze at home, but I didn’t realize it came in a sleepy mist too. =) I’ll have to check it out!
The soft fragrance combined with exercise is a stellar combination!
Reading is my go-to sleep strategy–a real paper book, and not the electronic kind. 🙂 I wish I could try the cooler room thing, but I have an all-night cover war with my husband. I sleep in sweats pretty much year round because I tend to lose each night.
I always need a cool room and some Sleepytime tea before getting my shut eye. Also Pure Barre looks like a blast!
