Be Your Best Self in 2017

2017 already? How!?! Crazy to think that I will have a baby boy so soon! But here we are at another new year and new beginning, and truthfully it’s one of my favorite times. I love making goals, making plans, and setting intentions for a new year. Today I am sharing some tips to be your best self in 2017!

Be Your Best Self In 2017

    • Set new goals for the year: I made a list of goals for 2016, and it’s been so nice to have something holding me accountable. I have made a new list for 2017 as well. One thing to remember is that you want your goals to be attainable. Something like reading 50 books or working out 4 days per week. Things that you can for sure do or work towards.
    • Make a point to be healthy: Having a new baby coming soon I know for me being healthy is my number one goal. One of the main things this includes for me is getting enough protein. I love meat, but I don’t eat a ton of it. I also have some dietary restrictions during my pregnancy in regards to meat. So looking for other ways to get enough protein has been paramount. I was sent the new Burt’s Bees Protein + Antioxidents to try out. It comes in Chocolate and Vanilla and is super easy to mix with your liquid of choice. I truthfully just mix it in a glass of water! It takes a few seconds and tastes great! Having this daily has really improved my protein intake and made me feel like I have been getting enough protein in my diet. Burt’s Bees Protein shakes are formulated with organic ingredients and plant-based protein. All of their formulas are made with more than 70% organic ingredients and certified organic by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers). Their shakes are also non-GMO, gluten free, soy free and dairy free and made without artificial sweeteners or flavors. Even the tubs the shakes come in are made with 100% post-consumer recycled material and are fully recyclable. I really love this message!

  • Invest in a great planner: Nothing like a little organization to keep you in check in a new year. I prefer planners that are yearly, January to December, and I love being able to start a new planner in January and feel all clean, fresh, and organized. I use a Day Designer which I love but really any old planner will do!
  • Set intentions for the year: Is it your intention to be more present with your family? Or maybe to be kinder? Whatever it is, set your intentions for the year, similar to goals but more all encompassing.
  • Commit to improving one area of your life: Maybe you really want to focus on health or focus on your savings account, whatever it is commit to improving at least one huge area of your life! That will for sure help you be your best self in 2017!
  • Make yourself a priority: Remember in all of this to make yourself a priority! Your family and friends are important but if you aren’t taking care of yourself, how can you take care of anyone else?

I would love to know how you intend to make be your best self in 2017! Tell me below in the comments!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Burt’s Bees. The opinions and text are all mine.

  1. I didn’t know Burts Bees made anything apart from skin products! Cool!
I’m aiming to read 10 books in 2017. I know it’s not a lot, but it’s a challenge for me with my busy schedule and it’s possible!

I love how motivated and inspired this post is! I agree on focusing on improving one area in life – that way I feel like we can actually achieve something that really matters 🙂
Also, I’m with you on the planners! Good planners are always worth it! (yes, I have more than one :P) In fact, I also designed my own daily pages and publish it on my blog.
Thanks for sharing this! Makes me feel excited about 2017 😀

Love this! I am focusing on my health in 2017! I’m trying to wake up just a little bit earlier each morning and workout at my house 3x a week. Starting small, but hoping it will grow.

  9. Love this! So many great tips! I especially like the one about investing in a great planner. I recently invested in an Erin Condren planner and I feel that it has changed my life! I no longer wake up in the middle of night feeling like I have tons of stuff to do. Before I go to bed, I write down all of the tasks that I want to accomplish the following day. So far it has been working great!

I really like the advice about improving one area of your life. Often times people set goals to improve 8 different things over the year which makes it easy to get overwhelmed and give up. By focusing on just one area, you really can delve deep into what you want to accomplish. 🙂

I think I will try maintaining a work planner/organizer this year. I usually keep my schedules and to do list in my smartphone, but I think writing it down would be more effective. This year, I will also make sure that I set aside an hour a day for me-just me. It is about time I start loving myself.

  27. Yes! This year will be the best year ever! I think people often forget to focus on themselves, they’re so involved with about a dozen other things that they forget to make themselves top priority .
