My Makeup Routine

I do not typically wear a ton of Makeup on a regular basis. I have always been a less is more kinda girl. So when thinking about what to share with you guys I decided to give it to you straight.

Now keep in my this is my basic Makeup Routine. I do have other stuff I add in from time to time like foundation, eye shadow etc but this is usually what I wear when I leave the house.

To start out with I always do Mac concealer under my eyes. Then I use Cle De Peau concealer around my nose, in spots that need touching up and generally several places 🙂

Up next something to brighten my face: Smashbox Photo Op Under eye brightener all around my eyes. Sometimes I sub this for benefit high beam.

Then I use Tarte Powder Foundation. MY FAV EVER! Its so light and really gives great coverage and glow.

Next I use any one of my 500 blushes but lately its been NARS Deep Throat highlighted by NARS Albatross.

I use Stila very black waterproof liquid liner and usually buxom Mascara as of late. I got this one in a Popsugar Must Have box and its been a fav since.

Next I use this lip scrub that I adore followed by either a gloss or if I want to be fancy this Revlon Raspberry Bite lipstick.

The whole thing takes me about 7 minutes at most. No joke. Even if I add in more stuff I usually dont spend more than 10 minutes on my Makeup Routine.

I would love to hear what you use in your Makeup Routine as I am always looking for new things to try!

ah, a seven minute makeup routine is so critical in the mornings. i’ve been trying to pare mine down but blame my morning dawdling more than my use of products! question — why the two concealers? I’m sure you have a good reason for it — you use one on your eyes and other around your nose.

I just discovered and fell in love with the tarte liquid foundation, but I keep hearing such good things about the formula you mentioned that I’m tempted to try that one as well!

I always like to see what other gals use to design their face. 🙂 I don’t wear much makeup either but I’m going to give the Tarte a try. If anything, I love its name!

  4. Your routine sounds nice and basic!!! Today my make up routine is non existent. Day to day for work I moisturize and go. On the weekends I have a 5 minute routine if I go somewhere and if I go “out” out it’s closer to 15 with foundation and all that jazz. Somewhere along the way I stopped caring about make up and I kinda like it!!

  5. During the week it is just mascara and moisturizer, but on the weekends I am all about MAC eyeshadow, lip gloss, and sometimes I even whip out the fake eyelashes, because they are a fabulous ego boost! 🙂

Love how fast this is, I don’t have time in the morning for a long make up routine, I’m very interested in the concealer, will have to try it out!

  9. I personally love the Nars Orgasm, but I guess you really can’t go wrong with any of them. That MAC shade looks like a nice neutral I’d like to try.

I totally use NARS deep throat, but I have no idea what “highlight with albatross” means… My favorite quick-fix eye shadow is YSL Ombres 5 Lumieres in Tawny or Parisian Sky.. quick and easy!!

7 minutes! I don’t have 7 minutes to spare in the morning (the benefits of working from home for you!).
Your everyday makeup routine is my “fancy” makeup routine, lol, although I have never mastered liquid liner. My makeup routine is SUPER basic – concealer, Bare Minerals powder foundation and blush, and sometimes brow pencil (though I ran out of my favorite).
I admire people who put more effort into there makeup, but the natural look (ie, no eye makeup) and the 30 second application is all that I have in me in the mornings (and this was before the baby!).
I’ll have to check out the foundation you use.

I am all over the place when it comes to products but I LOVE Revlon’s thick lip colorburst lip balms. They are like the Clinique chunky sticks but way cheap and way more moistening. They just added some new brighter colors. I used to work for Boots Cosmetics at Target so I had a lot of their products. Their mascaras are great. Lash Adapt is the best. You can add more mascara later in the day without it getting chunky. I also like their tinted moisturizer with the mica. (Although, garnier’s BB cream is the best for a little glow.) They used to have a great mineral powder but they discontinued it so I am looking for a new one. ELF’s is pretty good. BTW, I have a bunch of Boots Botanic skincare that was discontinued so if you are looking for any, let me know, I might have it,

One trick I learned was when you are going to wear a bright lip color, use a base of concealer. It looks so more set. Also, put your concealer on after your foundation. You have a better idea how much you need to take care of those dark circles.
