Best Makeup Tools

I in no way consider myself a makeup expert. I am someone who loves makeup and trying new products. However, I will say over the years I have discovered some of the best makeup tools and what works best for me. So today I am sharing those!

Best Makeup Tools

First I am going to start with Artis Brushes. These are VERY pricey. You can find some dupes that are still really good, but I personally prefer the real deal. These were a huge splurge last summer but I will say that they are worth it. If you only get one, get the foundation brush. It makes a WORLD of difference in applying foundation. It goes on a lot more even and less cakey no matter what foundation it is.

Cotton swabs are probably something you already have in your bathroom but these inexpensive little lovelies are AMAZING for erasing eyeliner mistakes, cleaning up around the eyes and lips, and generally fixing anything that’s wrong.

I am fairly certain beautyblenders are one of the best things since sliced bread. At least in the beauty world. If you don’t want to spend a ton on the original beautyblender then these dupes from Target are amazing. I only ever buy the original ones if I can find a good sale!

My favorite makeup brushes are from It Cosmetics. I think these brushes are great quality and a great price. I have purchased super expensive brushes as well as cheapy brushes, and while you get what you pay for, these are a great option. The holidays are a great time to splurge on new brushes because Ulta and Sephora both usually have good deals on sets!

Lastly, you need a great pair of tweezers. My favorite favorite favorite kind are from Tweezerman. I have about 3 of them and I keep one in my bathroom, one in my purse, and one to travel with. So worth it!

Good tools, but I would like to see Eco here, as well as Beautyblender sponges. Also think a lip brush is essential for a perfect pout.

  9. Thanks for sharing these! I have never used an artist brush before. They look a little intimidating. Does it matter what consistency your foundation is?

A touch of lipstick and eye pencil, make up the bulk of what I reach for when I think of make up. Sure, I have my share of all the accoutrements but I hardly use them… I love the foundation brush you mentioned… 🙂
