It’s no secret that I’ve been on a mission to switch to as many clean products as possible. Pretty much my entire skincare/body routine has switched but makeup has been much harder. As someone with very sensitive skin, I am really careful with new products and try to only try 1-2 at a time. It has taken me over 2 years but I have finally switched all of my makeup over to clean makeup products for sensitive skin.
Clean Makeup Products For Sensitive Skin
Clean Eye Makeup
Mascara is something I wear each day even if I wear pretty much no other makeup so this is one I really wanted to switch. ILIA Beauty makes my favorite one and I have raved about it several times including here where I did my ILIA Beauty review where I went through several of their products.
Brown gel is another item I wear daily no matter what. So I tried the ILIA essential brow gel and it has quickly become my favorite. Even more so than most of the ones I have raved about in the past.
I don’t wear eyeshadow a ton unless I am getting REALLY done up but I love so many products from RMS beauty and I love their eye polish! It’s a great option for a clean eyeshadow.
Liquid liner is always my favorite. I really don’t like pencils and when I picked up the W3ll people mascara I also tried the liquid liner and honestly it compares so well to the non-clean ones I have used. Another great one is the ILIA Beauty liquid liner.
Clean Face Makeup
RMS beauty un-cover up was the first clean beauty product I ever tried and it’s been a favorite since. I love the consistency and it really covers all the signs of no sleep. But the concealer I use EVERY single day is the ILIA true serum concealer. This is a great clean comparison for the NARS creamy concealer.
I honestly don’t wear foundation much. If I do it’s the ILIA true skin serum foundation. It is extremely lightweight, does not cake, and really doesn’t feel like a foundation. But the coverage is incredible. I also use the ILIA priming serum. This was one of my hardest switches because I love the Laura Mercier primer. This is a really good switch for that.
When it comes to bronzer, highlight, and powder again I have to go to RMS beauty as I just think their products are insanely good! The magic illuminizer is so good for every day! Such a great throw on and look amazing product. I also love their bronzing luminizing powder for a quick glow. The un-powder is a great translucent powder to set!
I am OBSESSED with the ILIA Beauty multi-stick. This is a great cream blush and you can really build it as you blend it in.
Why Clean Makeup?
Truthfully I never thought I would be the type of person that felt like I needed to switch my products to clean makeup. After doing research and seeing the results it was having on my skin I was sold. Sure, there are times I will try the occasional nonclean item or brand but I really try to stick to clean makeup.
I’ve been switching out a lot of things in my house for clean products as well. I haven’t even tackled makeup yet. I only wear eye shadow, eye liner, and mascara. I’ll have to check out the ones you mentioned because I haven’t done any research yet and this gives me a place to start.
I’m just basic when it comes to makeup. My eyeliner, maybe mascara and my lip gloss or favorite lipstick. I do like to try new things if I see something I like..
I’ve wanted to make a change towards clean makeup. I know that it could make my skin better if I did. But I just don’t trust the efficacy! Maybe I’ll give some of these a try.
My make up kit is very basic. Just foundation, concealer, liquid eyeliner and lip tint. I want to try the mascara you recommended here. I always have a not so pleasant experience with using mascara but I am hoping that this w3ll people will work good for me.

I’m looking forward to giving some of these products a try. I’m wary of clean products because they often use ingredients that, while cleaner or healthier for most, I’m super allergic to (avocado, oats, soy, etc.) so I have to be careful. BUT I’ll definitely need to look into these. I would love to switch up my routine!
I am working on slowly switching myself over, too. My skin is also very sensitive, so I am taking it slow like you said. I will have to try a few of these as they are all new to me.
