Favorite Books I Read This Summer

Now that fall is technically here I wanted to share my favorite books I read this summer. I read quite a bit and not all were great but these were the absolute favorites. If you need something to read this is your list! This post will be spoiler free!

Favorite Books I Read This Summer

Tell me lies was probably my favorite. It alternates between Stephen and Lucy’s perspective and has my favorite kind of twist. You will not want to put it down.

I love Colleen Hoover and this was her book I loved the most and related to the most. All your perfects follows Quinn and Graham from their very awkward and unusual first meeting through their marriage and troubled times. You will laugh, cry, and some of you may really relate.

I am sure most of you have read, Girl Wash Your Face at this point but if you haven’t and you need a dose of reality and slaps in the face read this!

I love Renee Carlinos books! They are always just the kind of love story I need and this one is no different. After an amazing kiss and a year of back and forth Blind Kiss finds Penny 14 years later still thinking about it. Intrigued?

Matchmaking for beginners is the cutest story with characters that will remind you of Starshollow from Gilmore Girls and has a mix or life and love!

After a great recommendation from the Bad On Paper podcast I read this series and OH MY GOD. It is so good, addictive, and a lot like Gossip Girl but way in the future. All three books in the thousandth floor series are fantastic!

Not sure how I would feel about being invited to my ex’s wedding in Paris but it really made for a great book! The Paris Wedding is such a great cozy day read.

Ghosted was an incredible read and had me second guessing everything from page one. It’s the story of 2 people who spend an incredible week together and then the guy totally disappears. Have we all been there? Maybe but not in this way.

The Intermission follows a couple in their marriage who consider taking an intermission of sorts. It’s very good and anyone married can relate to any of these struggles.

I hope you enjoyed my list of favorite books I read this summer. Do any of them intrigue you?

  1. The Paris Wedding sounds really interesting right now – since I’m actually in Paris at the moment (for the first time!). In love with this city already! 😀

There’s no way I could read that many in a summer. With the kids home from school, I’m lucky to get one in total all summer!

  16. Ooo tell me lies looks so good! Adding it to my must read list 😊. Thanks for sharing! I read the Grisha verse and Six of Crows Duology over the summer. SO good. I loved Six of Crows best but reading the entire Grisha series filled in a lot of blanks. If you like fantasy novels and want a thrilling story that’s sort of Gangs of New York meets Oceans 11, Six of Crows is magic 😉

I thought I’d have more time over the summer to tackle my book shelf, but the kids kept me running around town. Now that things have calmed down, I’m so ready for a great book (or two or three). These all sound delightful.

I’m interested in reading Girl Wash Your Face, but have heard from others that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be, like it’s shallow and basic advice that feels a little gross to read. Can you elaborate on your perception of this book?

    • I didn’t feel that way. I felt it really gave some solid advice on the perceptions and expectations we put on ourselves
