I read so many amazing books last year. Sure there were some duds but I really feel like I hit such a good reading stride. I do think a big part was starting the podcast with Rachel and discovering so many new authors. I hope my favorite books of 2023 give you some new reads to add to your list.
Favorite Books of 2023
You With a View by Jessica Joyce: I read this book in August and since then I think I have brought it up in conversation at least once a day. It was Jessica Joyce’s debut novel about Noelle who discovers pictures of her grandmother and a past love and goes on a mission to find out more. Through this she reconnects with Theo her high school rival who’s grandfather was the one in the photos.
A Risk Worth Taking by Jessica Joyce: A New Years novella and the perfect follow up. Super quick read but so so good.
Consider Me by Becka Mack: I read this book last January while in Antigua and I am pretty sure it solidifed Hockey Romances for me.
Call It What You Want by Alissa DeRogatis: If you are someone who has ever been strung along by a relationship you will relate to this.
Heartless by Elsie Silver: The second in the Chestnut Springs series and definitely my favorite of the series. If you are into the single dad trope- you will love.
The Infinity Between Us by NS Perkins: One of the more emotional books I read this year. It follows Violet and Will who grew up together and finally get together only to have their worlds ripped apart. Then they are back together at the beach house they grew up going to.
Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan: I really love a friends to lovers fake dating romance. If you do then you will love this!
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston: I do not usually like anything that involves time travel but this was done so well. Not hokey and was such a lovely delight of a story!
What is one of your favorite books of 2023?
Thanks for sharing your list of top books for last year. I can’t say I have a fav from last year as I’ve mostly read political and environmental books – I must try some of your novels for a little more relaxation in my life!!
