My mom and I have had a tradition since I was like 4 of watching all award shows together!
We get yummy take out and drink wine and watch and laugh and its my favorite mother/daughter time we have. I have invited friends or boyfriends in the past but its the best when its just us 🙂
I will say that over the last ten or so years we do predictions and it gets rather competitive.
Granted IM usually right
This year we managed to see EVERY SINGLE MOVIE thats nominated.
I saw more than she did but for the most part she saw them all too.
I also looooove Red Carpet…duh IM a girl!
Here is the couple I look forward to seeing the most:
He’s a hottie, shes gorgeous and their kids are adorable! Love them! Please never break up 🙂

Best Motion Picture Drama:
Who Should Win: The Fighter-Hands down the best movie I saw ALL YEAR
Who Will win: The Social Network-A movie about facebook yeah its good times
Best Actress in a movie drama:
Should and Will win: Natalie Portman for Black Swan-Ummm have yall seen this movie? She trained for over a year, lost 20 lbs, and plays crazy so well you believe it
Best Actor in a movie drama:
Should/Will win: Colin Firth for The Kings Speech…oh my he was brilliant, the movie was amazing and everyone should see it. Its hysterical and a true story!
But if Ryan Gossling wins for Blue Valentine id be ok with that because that movie honestly made my heart ache
Best Movie Comedy:
Who Should Win: The Kids are Alright-Its such a touching and funny story but I worry it came out so long ago people forgot
Who Will Win: I think Alice in Wonderland which is upsetting because the movie sucked
Best Actress in a Comedy:
Should and Will win: Annette Benning for The Kids are Alright….she rocked that movie!
Best Actor in a Comedy:
Should Win: Paul Giammati for Barney’s Version…such a great movie and I may have watched a pirated copy 🙁
WIll Win: Johnny Depp for Alice in Wonderland…he always wins at the Globes …ALWAYS
Best Supporting Actor:
Should and Will win: Christian Bale for the Fighter…they may as well just engrave his oscar now because HOLY SHIT Ive never EVER seen a better performance well maybe Heath Ledger for Dark Knight but other than that…WOW! Go see it!
Best Supporting Actress:
Should Win: Melissa Leo for The Fighter…she was that movie. No one else could play that role and she holds the movie together
Will Win: Hopefully Melissa Leo but if not I say Mila Kunis for Black Swan…The Globes dont always go with the mainstream and usually have a random person win at least one award. After all Keri Russel won for Felicity back in 1999.
Best Director:
Should/Will win: David Fincher for the Social Network…just trust me on this
Best Screenplay:
Aaron Sorkin for The Social Network…again trust me….he has won every award thus far.
Well lets see if Im right or wrong tonight…if you agree or disagree let me know why…I am always curious of others award show opinions!
Also Ill be doing this for the SAG awards and The Oscars as well

Of COURSE I haven’t seen a single one of these movies! We were supposed to go see The Figher today before M got so sick. Can’t wait to watch the awards, though!

I haven’t seen ANY movies. Sigh. I kind of want to have a me-movie date and go see Black Swan. The Social Network will be a Netflix movie. We never go to the movies hardly, it just gets so expensive! So I need to update Netflix and hope movies come out soon!
And I thought I was the only one on earth that goes to EVERY movie nominated. LOL! I agree with you 100% about Christian Bale and the fighter… BEST movie I have seen and best performance since Jeff Bridges Crazy Heart! If Christian Bale doesn’t win the Globes and the Oscar… I will be very upset! 🙂
Thats such a fun tadition. I must admit I am a bum when it comes to movies. I will NOT see them in the movie theatre. For two reasons 1. I cna not sit still that long.. and 2. I refuse to pay an obscene amount to see a movie.
Other than that I LOVE watching movies at home. I like your predictions though.
I love award shows! I usually watch the red carpet and go back and forth with other tv shows so I can see the speeches 🙂 I definitely think Natalie Portman is going to win! I hope she gets nominated for an Oscar because “Black Swan” was amazing.

Sadly, the only movie I saw from the Best Picture category was The Social Network. I looooooved it though. Black Swan freaks me out…
